Brain Supplements reviewed, including summary, pluses/minuses, ingredients and more. Detailed Brain Supplement reviews plus other diet reviews.

Welcome to BrainResearchSupplements.com, where you will find professionally researched brain supplement reviews without the unnecessary jargon. We also offer our own ranking system to help you choose the best brain supplement for your needs.

We have spent many months creating this online resource and reviewing the most popular brain nutrition products on the market. As such, we can now offer you a balanced and scientific review of each product and explain the scientific reasons behind our statements. We found that all of the products fell within three broad categories:

  1. Amino Acid Approach
  2. Multi-Vitamin Approach
  3. Herbal Remedy Approach

We placed each product in the category that best described its approach.

As herbal and dietary supplements cannot be patented and no double-blind studies are normally conducted on them, one of the most reliable methods for determining a natural product’s effectiveness is to evaluate its user feedback. Additionally, our official rankings were influenced by comparing the ingredients, as well as the formulation approach and effectiveness of each ingredient according to industry standard reference manuals and the latest research in the field of natural medicine.

Most consumers report frustration and needless hype in researching Brain Supplement Products. They are exposed to endless brain supplements and opinions from so called professionals. However, in our experience, 90% of these so-called experts do not fully understand how the human brain functions, and what it actually needs on a daily basis to make you feel optimistic, relaxed, focused, help you sleep and balance your entire hormonal system correctly. There is a reason why the human brain is known as “the last frontier of nutrition”, and you will find out through our product reviews.

In an effort to be the most valuable brain supplement review and information resource available, we continually update reviewed products as new information becomes available in addition to adding new products all the time. All of these products are reviewed using a high standard of relevant details that we apply to our research.

Let’s now consider the three categories in more detail:

#1. HCF Happy, Calm & Focused Reviews

by The HCF Company

Exclusive Trial Of HCF From Manufacturer - Click Here - HCF Happy, Calm & Focused by The HCF Company finally became our top choice after reviewing and testing some 50+ of the top brain supplements throughout the world. Bottom line its just an outstanding formulation based on a real scientific understanding of the brain.

They highlight two of most crucial amino-acids for the brain called F&Q. F = DL-Phenylalanine an essential "outside" amino-acid you can only get from specific protein foods, and Q = L-Glutamine a conditional amino-acid, meaning if your brain is under a terrific amount of stress your body cannot manufacture this amino-acid on its own and it has to come from an outside food source as well... HCF Happy, Calm & Focused by The HCF Company has became our top choice after reviewing and testing some 50+ of the top brain supplements. This brain supplement formulation has key neuro-nutrients which we’ve found in HCF Happy, Calm & Focused to imitate how F&Q is actually found in whole-food proteins. This is interesting, particularly since it's well documented how complex and highly difficult it is to actually get a brain supplement through your BBB (Blood Brain Barrier) and into your brain. Not very easy, so we found this company's formula and product details fascinating.

Is HCF Happy, Calm & Focused Right For You?

When reviewing and testing HCF Happy, Calm & Focused, it was shown that this supplement is one of the best brain supplements currently on the market. And while this outstanding formulation does have the potential to help you feel more calm and focused, you need to know if it is the right choice for you. This supplement, known as HCF Happy, Calm & Focused is a supplement that contains two crucial amino-acids that can help boost your brain, which are called F and Q. These two amino acids are essential to help you function normally. The F amino-acid cannot be created by your body period, this is an essential amino-acid that must be supplemented into your diet from whole-foods or supplementation like HCF Happy, Calm & Focused. When you’re dealing with stressful situations, your body can’t properly create conditional Q amino acids, and this is where HCF Happy, Calm & Focused comes in and provides these amino-acids for you. In order to have your brain at its full functioning capacity, you need to look at supplements like HCF Happy, Calm & Focused which can provide this for you. Many people out there don’t meet the levels for amino-acids in the brain that they need to, and this means that you can have deficiencies in many ways. Some amino-acids, which are needed throughout your whole body, cannot be created in the body, and you need to get these amino acids in your diet, or through taking a regular brain supplement. You want to make sure that these amino-acids and nutrients are precise and belong in your system to boost brain health, and HCF Happy, Calm & Focused has these components that can help you. These are just a few components that you need to be looking at that will help you determine if HCF Happy, Calm & Focused is the right supplement for you.

Ingredients of HCF Happy, Calm & Focused

HCF Happy, Calm & Focused is a natural supplement with amino-acids, nutrients and other natural ingredients that put it ahead in the market, against other brain supplements, who have to rely on pumping more than 50 ingredients into one supplement, just to have an impact. The main ingredients in HCF Happy, Calm & Focused are F and Q amino acids. The F stands for DL-Phenylalanine, which is an essential amino acid that isn’t created in your body, and you need this amino-acid to keep your body functioning, which you can ingest in whole-foods with protein, or a regular brain supplement. The Q stands for L-Glutamine, and this is a conditional amino-acid, which will not be produced when your body is under a lot of stress, which includes almost everyone nowadays.

Effectiveness of HCF Happy, Calm & Focused

When something is actually meant to be in your body, then it is going to be far more effective than items and substances that aren’t. This is one of the merits of HCF Happy, Calm & Focused – its ingredients are amino-acids that are naturally found in your body, and in your diet. There are no artificial chemicals or unnatural ingredients in these formulated brain supplements, like many other brands out there, and this will boost your body’s response and level of effectiveness when taking this brain supplement. The amino-acids in the formulation of HCF Happy, Calm & Focused work to actually mimic the movements and the release of amino acids that work their way into your brain. When HCF Happy, Calm & Focused does this, they actually allow the amino acids in the formulation to pass through the BBB, or the blood brain barrier, and this allows the formulation to effectively nourish your brain, giving you the potential effects of being happier, calmer and more focused. There have been tests and studies about the formulation and effectiveness of HCF Happy, Calm & Focused, that look into the safety, effectiveness and dosing of this brain supplement. Overall there were no indicating factors that would point to any side effects, and this brain supplement is safe for people of all ages to take, meaning that your entire family can benefit from its effects. Click here to learn more on the official product website, and to take advantage of the manufacturer’s trial offer.

#2. Adrecor Reviews

by NeuroScience, Inc

Adrecor is a multivitamin approach to try to combat stress and fatigue. There is a large dose of vitamin C, vitamin B6 and vitamin 12, along with many other vitamins and nutrients included. Thankfully this is a product that actually does contain a number of amino acids such as L-methionine, L-histidine, N-acetyl tyrosine, which are the best of all the ingredients included. These are the keys and help to provide neurotransmitter support to nourish the brain. Unfortunately this product comes with a lot of other ingredients, which are unnecessary and wasteful. …

Is Adrecor Right For You?

Adrecor is advertised as a multivitamin supplement specially created to try to combat stress and fatigue. The company behind this supplement is NeuroScience Inc. The company was established in 1999 and is currently located in Osceola, Wisconsin, United States. According to their website, NeuroScience is a research and education driven company committed to improving human health through the neurological, endocrine and immune systems. This formula contains a large dose of Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12, along with many other important vitamins and nutrients. Beside these important ingredients, Adrecor also contains a number of amino acids such as L-methionide, L-histidine and N-acetyl tyrosine.

Ingredients of Adrecor

Adrecor includes the following ingredients: Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Niacin, Folate, Magnesium, Zinc Gluconate, L-methionine, L-histidine, N-acetyl tyrosine, EGCG, Rhodiola rosea and Vegetable cellulose.

Effectiveness of Adrecor

As stated above, Adrecor is a combination of vitamins, essential nutrients and amino acids. It is hard to identify the key ingredient in this formulation but it appears to be N-acetyl tyrosine. This amino acid is a precursor to the catecholamines, which includes epinephrine and norepinephrine. Multiple clinical studies have shown tyrosine to be useful during conditions of stress, fatigue, cold, prolonged work and sleep deprivation, with reductions in stress hormone levels, improvements in cognitive and physical performance and reductions in stress-induced weight loss seen in animal trials. However, tyrosine does not seem to have any significant effect on mood, cognitive or physical performance in normal circumstances. Adrecor is a mixture of ingredients that tries to cover all bases of the brain supplement spectrum. Unfortunately, this is a common mistake made by many companies, as they try to make a fortune from glorified brain vitamins. The neurotransmitters in our brains are very sensitive and need the exact amino acids found in whole food. Multi vitamins are certainly a healthy option for the modern way of life (considering the food quality these days), but they are not a replacement for supplements with exact amino acids, vitamins and neuro-nutrients that would be found in the nucleus of whole food. Multi vitamins are unlikely to even penetrate the blood brain barrier so they are, in effect, excreted through the usual bodily means. This renders many multi vitamins almost worthless. There are also a number of Adrecor ingredients that cause side effects in a number of people. This is something that you need to be very careful of before you try this product (if you want to try it). As an example, the taurine and theanine are not likely to cause headaches or side effects for most people, but the 5-HTP is likely to be difficult to tolerate for some people. The main issue here is that we don’t know how much of this is in this product.

Adrecor Price

A bottle of Adrecor contains 180 pills, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 1 to 3 capsules, 2 times per day. This supplement is quite expensive compared to other multivitamins. However, some retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger orders.

Does Adrecor Work?

Adrecor is manufactured by a company with a good reputation and with a lot of experience in developing brain supplements and multivitamins. This is a good thing. On top of that, this supplement has received many positive reviews and testimonials and its effectiveness is partially supported by several clinical trials and studies conducted by the manufacturer. Adrecor may be appealing for those who are looking for a good multivitamin supplement. In fact, this supplement is the company’s best seller for adrenal support. However, we recommend our readers to further research into this product before making a final decision.

#3. Amoryn Reviews

by Bioneurix Corporation

Amoryn is a herbal remedy brain supplement with the main ingredient called hyperforin, which is extracted from a herb called St. John's Wort. St. John's Wort is typically used as a herbal remedy for depression, as it has fewer side effects than standard medication. However, there have also been studies, which show that this herb produces results very close to those found in placebo tests, so the evidence of its efficacy is far from concrete. …

Is Amoryn Right For You?

Amoryn is advertised as an herbal remedy brain supplement containing well known natural mood enhancers like St. John’s Wort and 5-HTP. The company behind this supplement is BioNeurix Corporation, and has been available since 2003. The manufacturer claims this supplement is working by increasing levels of the brain’s “feel-good” neurotransmitters using a mixture of all-natural ingredients, including a standardized, pharmaceutical-grade extract of hyperforin, the active compound in St. John’s Wort. Amoryn is a slow acting supplement and may take between four to eight weeks to produce any noticeable changes in mood balance. We recommend those who are taking this supplement for anxiety, stress or other emotional concerns to take it as a part of a more complex wellness plan that is supervised by a qualified healthcare professional.

Ingredients of Amoryn

Amoryn includes the following ingredients: St. John’s Wort, 5-HTP and Rhodiola Rosea, B Vitamins, Selenium, Vitamin D, Vitamin D3 and Zinc.

Effectiveness of Amoryn

Amoryn’s main ingredient is hyperforin, which is extracted from an herb called St. John’s Wort. St. John’s Wort is typically used as an herbal remedy for depression, as it has fewer side effects than standard medication. However, there have also been studies, which show that this herb produces results very close to those found in placebo tests, so the evidence of its efficacy is far from concrete. The formula has been created in such a way that it will not cause any side effects like that of prescription medication. And so it does. There are no known side effects of Amoryn, which makes it safe to test and use. Unlike other forms of medication, this formula promises long term effect of feeling great. And you won't be dependent as well nor experience any withdrawal symptoms related to drug intake. There are also a number of other ingredients in the Amoryn formulation, such as 5-HTP, which is added in order to make serotonin (known as the brains feel good neurotransmitter). The idea here is to increase serotonin levels and give the users a more positive outlook on their life. The issue here is the same as with many herbal approaches in that the blend of ingredients are not natural and not what the brain naturally craves. Many people think St. John’s Wort is natural, but it doesn’t actually nourish the brain, as Amoryn does not contain the correct neuro-nutrients. Amoryn also mixes a number of other herbs and vitamins together such as B vitamins, Selenium, vitamin D3, zinc and vitamin C. The vitamins are certainly good for the body as they act as antioxidants, but the likelihood of effecting major mood disorders is very slim. Bioneurix Corporation list a number of unspecified clinical studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of Amoryn, however these are findings from individual ingredients and therefore should not be identified as supporting the overall formula.

Amoryn Price

A bottle of Amoryn contains 60 tablets, which should be enough for about 15 days of treatment, at a recommended dose of 3 or 4 capsules per day. That means a consumer will need two bottles a month for best results. Tacking this into consideration, Amoryn becomes a medium-priced treatment. This supplement should be available for purchase from a number of online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts. If you place your order online, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Amoryn Work?

BioNeurix Corporation is a company with a long history in producing natural supplements and herbal remedies. The company website comes with a large list of customer feedback and reviews from their customers, which you can review yourself. In fact, their promotional material states that 88% of Amoryn users with anxiety and 90% with depression report positive results. These claims are not backed up with evidence or studies from Amoryn, so it should not be taken at face value. The formula contains a few interesting ingredients that have been proven to be effective in treating the symptoms of stress, depression and mood swings. However, we recommend our readers to further research into this product before making a final decision.

#4. Curcumin Reviews

by Now Foods

Curcumin is a supplement aimed at weight loss. There are literally thousands of these types of supplements on the market, and Now Foods has a number in this marketplace. This is an herbal extract remedy, and uses Curcumin as the primary ingredient. …

Is Curcumin Right For You?

Curcumin is a supplement aimed at weight loss. The company that produces this supplement is Now Foods. The company was founded in 1968 and according to their website, Now Foods is one of the top-selling brands in health foods stores, an award-winning manufacturer, a respected advocate of the natural product industry, and a leader in the fields of nutritional science and methods development. There are literally thousands of weight loss supplements on the market and this company has a number in this marketplace. The primary ingredient in this formulation is Curcumin (the major component of Turmeric. The company claims that scientific research on Curcumin has demonstrated its potent antioxidant properties. Unfortunately we could not verity this claim one way or the other as there is no evidence available to look at.

Ingredients of Curcumin

Curcumin includes the following ingredients: Tumeric Root Extract (Curcuma longa), Cellulose (capsule), Rice Flour, Silica, Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source) and Stearic Acid (vegetable source).

Effectiveness of Curcumin

Now Foods can be described as a company that is very good at displaying comprehensive information on their website, and they do a decent job with this formula as well. They display the bottle label, which is always a good sign. They also make sure to mention the fact that Now Foods’ Curcumin Extract Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives. Tumeric Root Extract (Curcuma longa) is the key ingredient in this formula. Curcumin is the principal curcuminoid of the popular Indian spice turmeric, which is a member of the ginger family. Turmeric has been used historically as a component of Indian Ayurvedic medicine since 1900 BC to treat a wide variety of ailments. As many brain supplement companies now use these age-old herbal extracts, we need to ensure that you know the facts about them. Turmeric is currently being investigated for possible benefits in Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, cancer and other clinical disorders. For instance, according to a preliminary laboratory research, this ingredient ameliorated the severity of pancreatitis-associated lung injury in mice. In June 2011, the U.S. National Institutes of Health currently has registered 61 clinical trials completed or underway to study use of dietary curcumin for a variety of clinical disorders. However, while all these may look impressive, we must point out that age-old herbal extracts may not be very healthy for the human body and brain. Some people are unable to digest these herbs and others suffer reactions to them. The reason is that they are not a natural product for the human body. They alter the mind-state and stimulate the brains neurotransmitters, which is where the short-lived effect comes from. Consumers may think such herbs work, and maybe it will for a short time, but please keep in mind that this is an artificial process that’s taking place. It is much better, and more natural to find amino-acids and neuro-nutrients from whole foods. Alternatively, you should supplement with an amino acid supplement so that you nourish your brain in the right way.

Curcumin Price

Curcumin is a cheap supplement. A bottle of Curcumin contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for up to 15 days of treatment at a recommended dose of 1 to 2 capsules, 3 times per day. This supplement should be available for purchase from a number of online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts. If you place your order online, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Curcumin Work?

Curcumin has received many positive testimonials and reviews. Now Foods, the company behind this supplement, is also a company with a good reputation that has become well known for their wide range of brain supplements, multivitamins, weight loss products and herbal remedies. The key ingredient from this formulation has been under research and clinical trials for years. The results are promising but even under these circumstances it is too soon to say how effective Curcumin really is. Overall, Curcumin by Now Foods may be a good weight loss product. However, we encourage our readers to further research into this formula before making a final decision.

#5. Ashwaganda Reviews

by Jarrow Formulas, Inc

There are many people who look to herbs these days as the solution to feel better about themselves, reduce fatigue and protect against illnesses. Ashwaganda is a herb that has been used for centuries in India, as they believe it will protect the immune system from illness, improve memory and promote overall wellness. …

Is Ashwagandha Right For You?

Ashwagandha utilizes a special patented form of Ashwangandha extract called Sensoril. The company behind this product is Jarrow Formulas, Inc. The same company is responsible for a wide range of natural supplements and herbal remedies. There are many people who look to herbs these days as the solution to feel better about themselves, reduce fatigue and protect against illnesses. The key ingredient from this formulation that has been used for centuries in India, as they believe it will protect the immune system from illness, improve memory and promote overall wellness. The manufacturer claims that some experimental clinical trials demonstrate that Ashwagandha is an antioxidant that supports joint mobility and resistance to fatigue.

Ingredients of Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha includes the following ingredients: Ashwagandha Extract (Sensoril), Cellulose, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide.

Effectiveness of Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an herbal brain supplement. The Ashwagandha extract is a patented extract obtained from roots and leaves. It is particularly targeted to vegetarians as it contains no wheat, no gluten, no soybeans, no dairy, no egg, no fish/shellfish and no peanuts/tree nuts. The plant has been used in the Indian tradition of Ayurveda to improve musculoskeletal function and as a tonic to improve overall health. While these claims are made, there is no evidence to support them and there are no scientific studies to support the efficacy of this herb. The company does note experimental studies which seem to demonstrate that Ashwagandha is an antioxidant that supports joint mobility and resistance to fatigue, but again, this is not backed up. Herbs are touted by people as ways to improve brain function, but this is not the case. In order for anything to nourish the brain, it has to first pass the blood brain barrier. This requires specific amino acids and neuro-nutrients to be present. As an antioxidant, this ingredient may be very healthy for the body, but it is unlikely to provide sufficient help for people with fatigue issues. This is simply because it does not contain the needed ingredients to fight this condition. It is very important that people with fatigue or lethargy issues find supplements with amino acids that shower the brain with the essential neuro-nutrients (not found in Ashwaganda). This will ensure that the amino acids pass the blood brain barrier and start to nourish the brain, eventually letting the brain build more neurotransmitters. This is what the brain must have in order to function properly, as it is the best way to relieve symptoms of tiredness, fatigue or stress. An herbal supplement is simply not able to provide this level of aid. This single herb will certainly not cause any issues, but it is not going to improve brain function, memory or fight fatigue as the manufacturer suggests.

Ashwagandha Price

A bottle of Ashwagandha contains 120 capsules. This is a cheap supplement that should be available for purchase from many online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for bigger orders. If you plan to purchase this supplement online, you should take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Ashwagandha Work?

Ashwagandha has received many positive testimonials. Many consumers are reporting positive results after using this supplement. There are no known side effects of Ashwagandha, which makes it safe to test and use. The supplement is relatively cheap compared with other similar products and most consumers should afford to purchase it. The company behind this supplement is a company with a good reputation and a long history in producing and selling a wide range of herbal extracts, brain supplements and multivitamins. All these are recommending Ashwagandha as a good solution for those who are seeking a cheap and safe brain supplement. However, we believe there may be better options out there. Thus, we encourage our readers to further research into other supplements as well, before making a final decision. It is also recommended to focus on products that offer free samples for testing.

by CTD Labs

Piracetam is a brain supplement designed to “positively support healthy cognitive & cardiovascular functioning by a multifaceted means of action”. The official website states that it effects the brain by enhancing brain metabolism, supporting cognitive receptors, and stimulating the Corpus Callosum (an area of the brain that controls communication between the left and right hemispheres). Is Piracetam Right For You?

Piracetam is a brain supplement designed to positively support healthy cognitive and cardiovascular functioning by a multifaceted means of action. This supplement is sold under many brand names and by numerous manufacturers. However, we will now review the supplement manufactured by CTD Labs. As stated above, this supplement is sold under various brand names worldwide: Nootropyl - United States; Nootropil, Lucetam, Oikamid - Europe, Brazil; Breinox - Ecuador, Venezuela; Dinagen – Mexico and Noostan – Argentina. The official website states that it affects the brain by enhancing brain metabolism, supporting cognitive receptors, and stimulating the Corpus Callosum (an area of the brain that controls communication between the left and right hemispheres). They claim that this Piracetam supplement boosts mental energy and cerebral circulation, as well as supporting healthy neuron communication and structure. Unfortunately, they do not provide any studies or research to support their claims.

Ingredients of Piracetam

Piracetam includes the following ingredients: Piracetam (2-oxo-Pyrrolidine Acetamide), Gelatin (capsule) and Rice Flour

Effectiveness of Piracetam

This drug has been used for more than 35 years. It was first synthesized in 1964by scientists at the Belgian pharmaceutical company UCB led by Dr Corneliu E. Giurgea. Piracetam (trade name "Nootropil") was launched clinically by UCB in the early 1970s, and currently is in use in many countries. According to its manufacturer, this supplement positively supports healthy cognitive and cardiovascular functioning by a multifaceted means of action. The producing company claims this product may have various effects on the brain: enhances brain metabolism, increases cerebral phospholipids and cellular membrane fluidity, supports cognitive receptors, stimulates the Corpus Callosum, stimulates the Locus Coeruleus, inhibits platelet aggregation, decreases EEG complexity and has a significant antioxidant effects. This supplement has been shown to be safe and effective in healthy people as well as those who are aging or have deteriorating brain conditions. However, it is important to note that this drug has been banned in the United States by the FDA. But it is still available for purchase in Europe and other parts of the world. Unfortunately, just as with many other similar drugs, Piracetam’s mechanism of action is not fully understood. It is believed to influence neuronal and vascular functions and support cognitive function without acting as a sedative or stimulant. Piracetam has been associated with several side effects. Most of these side effects fall under the category “mild and transient.” The most common side effects are: general excitability, including anxiety, insomnia, irritability, headache, agitation, nervousness, and tremor, are occasionally reported.

Piracetam Price

One bottle of Piracetam contains 240 capsules, which should be enough for two months of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 to 4 capsules per day. This is a medium-priced supplement and it should be available for purchase from a number of online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts. Piracetam is a safe product. It has very few side effects and none are major. The product is also available at an affordable price, making it a strong competitor for other similar supplements. This product is manufacturer by a company with a good reputation (CTD Labs). However, we recommend our readers to be extremely careful when purchasing the supplement. There are many other manufacturers that are producing Piracetam. Overall, this brain supplement may be appealing for those who are seeking a strong formula to enhance their cognitive function.

#7. Focus Factor Reviews

by Factor Nutrition Labs, LLC

Focus Factor is like a number of other brain supplements we have reviewed, in that it comprises of a huge range of ingredients in one supplement bottle. This is the way it is marketed to customers, as unfortunately they have been taught to believe that more equals better. This is certainly not the case. In fact, many of these ingredients will not even reach the brain, and will be flushed from the body in the usual manner. …

Is Focus Factor Right For You?

Focus Factor is a supplement specially created to support the brain function and help the brain run more effectively. The company behind this product is Factor Nutrition Labs, LLC. According to the manufacturer, this supplement is a combination of natural ingredients, minerals, vitamins, herbal extracts and omega-3 oils. The manufacturer claims that each ingredient was added to the formulation due to its unique properties the support and enhances the overall cognitive function. It is a well known fact that, as people age, they will eventually begin to experience difficulty in focusing and thinking, disappearing memory and brain fog. In order to enhance the brain functions, many of these individuals are seeking help in the form of brain supplements, such as Focus Factor.

Ingredients of Focus Factor

Focus Factor includes the following ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Potassium, Diemethylaminoethanol, L Glutamine, Bacopin, L Pyroglutamic Acid, Phosphatidylsering, Docosahexanoic Acid Concentrate, Choline, Inositol, N Acetyltyrosine, Bilberry Fruit Extract, GABA, Activin, Vinpocetine, Trace Lyte, Huperzine A, Boron, Vanadium and Grape Skin Extract.

Effectiveness of Focus Factor

Factor Nutrition Labs’ advertising campaign is a bit confusing in what concerns this particular supplement. Mixing many vitamins, minerals, amino acids and herbs is not a good idea as they can cause a poison to occur if they are incompatible. They states that people do not need to buy a multi-vitamin, as this product can double as one. This is a little misleading as it is touted as a brain nutrition supplement, so which is it? This formula contains more than 40 different ingredients. The ingredients list is long and confusing so we will try to review only the most important ones. This brain supplement contains DHA (an essential omega-3 greasy acid that can be found in fish and fish oil). DHA is well known for its effectiveness in supporting a proper eye and brain development. As we have stated above, the overall mixture may appeal strange for some consumers. A closer look at the formulation will reveal that this supplement is closer to a typical multivitamin with a few additional ingredients such as bacopa monnieri extract, vinpocetine and hyperzine A; than a strong brain supplement. Beside various vitamins and natural ingredients, this product also contains a list of heavy metals such as chromium, copper, manganese, selenium and molybdenum, metals that have the potential for heavy metal toxicity. Due to this fact, it is highly recommended to not exceed the maximum dosage of 4 tables per day. As with many brain supplements of this sort, Focus Factor is likely to only treat some surface issues and not the underlying problem that people are dealing with. People who are experiencing severe focusing issues should contact their health professional, although this will be a minority of people (it should be made clear).

Focus Factor Price

Focus Factor is a reasonably priced supplement at roughly $21.50 for a 1 month supply using their recommended dosage of 4 tablets daily for a 150 tablet bottle. Focus Factor is no longer available from their website at all, in the past you were able to take advantage of a free trial however, this is no longer the case. You can buy Focus Factor (150 Tablet Bottle) here

Does Focus Factor Work?

Many users have reported experiencing minor side effects, such as gastric upset. Searching on the Internet allows you to quickly see many reviews of this product. Some users of Focus Factor claim that although the product does work to a degree, the results are slow in coming. Just like many other brain supplements which promote a “one size fits all” path to brain nutrition, Focus Factor may rely too much on clever marketing and not quantifiable results, as we could not find any evidence of the claims they make on the website. In our opinion, this product is marketed as a brain supplement as this is the current trend, and they are riding the wave of interest. However, on closer inspection, Focus Factor is closer to the profile of a general multi-vitamin supplement. Despite the manufacturer’s claims, this product may not be as revolutionary as it was presented. Without a free trial period, Focus Factor and the producing company are losing some credibility among potential customers.

#8. Metanx Reviews

Is Metanx Right For You?

Metanx is a prescription medical drug for the dietary management of endothelial dysfunction in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This drug is manufactured by Panlab, LLC. Click here to read about a non-prescription potential alternative to Metanx The official website states that this is a prescription medical food and has a unique formulation providing the active forms of folate, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 to manage the distinct nutritional requirements of diabetic neuropathy patients who often experience numbness, tingling, and burning sensations in their feet. The official website is correct with the scientific information that it presents. For example, it is correct that the common B vitamins and folic acid need to be converted into their natural, active forms before the human body can use them for its vital functions. As such, this Metanax is designed to identify and "fix" the distinct nutritional requirements of diabetic neuropathy patients who often experience numbness, tingling, and burning sensations in their feet.

Ingredients of Metanx

Metanx includes the following ingredients: L-methylfolate Calcium (as Metafolin), Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate and Methylcobalamin

Effectiveness of Metanx

The official Metanax website provides a lot of information regarding the formulation behind this product, its effectiveness, dosage and how it supposes to work. The information appears to be accurate and sustained by relevant clinical trials and researches. The company claims Metanx provides the nutritional requirements needed by diabetes patients to restore the metabolic processes associated with diabetic neuropathy to support peripheral nerve and blood vessel health. There are also a number of people who use this for the purpose of improving their sleep. However, as the official website and drug documentation states, this is not really a brain specific supplement. As such, we would suggest using other treatments before using Metanx. The effectiveness of this drug is also not proven as a number of customer reports have shown. A quick search on the Internet reveals customers who state this took a few months to work. Besides this, there are those people who related stories of experiencing nausea when they first started using it (however, they say it went away after a few weeks). We should also make people aware of the other side effects that they might experience. Some of these things include diarrhea, rashes and stomach upset. These will be individual and dependent on your own body makeup, but please be aware. Keep in mind this is a prescription medication, so you always need to seek professional medical advice first. As we stated earlier, this is really not an ideal brain nutrition product, as its main purpose is to remove itching and burning of the feet. The recommended dosage is one tablet twice daily. The company also states that it is OK to take both tablets at the same time.

Metanx Price

The price of Metanx is quite expensive. While this drug may be effective for those who suffer from insomnia or other sleep disorders, please take into consideration that its main purpose is not to improve your sleep. There may be cheaper alternatives for those who are seeking a supplement to support a restful night sleep.

Does Metanx Work?

All in one, Metanax appears to be a good supplement that has received a number of positive reviews and testimonials. The company has conducted several clinical studies to support their claims and the official Metanax website provides a lot of information regarding the ingredients, the effectiveness of the product, the correct dosage and how it supposes to work. On the other hand, this drug is quite expensive. And, just like with all prescription drugs, it is available by prescription only. It is recommended to consult with your doctor before making a purchase. We also advise our readers to further research into this product before making a final decision.

#9. Deplin Reviews

by Panlab, LLC

Is Deplin Right For You?

Deplin is a prescription medication that targets people with varying degrees of depression. This product is manufactured by Panlab, LLC. Click here to read about a non-prescription potential alternative to Deplin The official website states that dietary management of depression with this particular formula regulates all 3 monoamine neurotransmitters associated with mood by providing the increased requirements for folate in the brain. In simple terms, this supplement manages and artificially stimulates neurotransmitter syntheses (aiming at trimonoamine especially). These are the neurotransmitters associated with moods. It does this by increasing the requirement for folate in the brain. While medications may be the right route for people with severe depression, it should not be the choice for most people. You should always seek medical attention if you are thinking of going down this route.

Ingredients of Deplin

Deplin includes the following ingredients: L-methylfolate [6(S)-5-MTHF](Metafolin), Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Dihydrate, Silicified Microrystalline Cellulose 90,Silicified Microcrystalline Cellulose HD90, Opardy ll Blue85F90748 (Polyvinyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, PEG 3350, Talc and FD&C Blue #2), Magnesium Stearate (Vegetable Source) and Carnauba Wax.

Effectiveness of Deplin

First of all, we would like to point out that all drugs are altering the composition of your brain and creating an unnatural environment. The real goal is that you should get back to a natural state and feel healthy, joyful and alive once again with the right diet and amino acid supplementation. While this might not be possible for people with severe depression, this should be the first means of action for most other people. The brain demands a nourished environment where it can restore health in a natural fashion. According to the official website, this supplement works by addressing the imbalance in the neurotransmitters in the brain, but they do so by an artificial means. For example, most antidepressants do this by blocking the reabsorption of neurotransmitters, allowing the brain to have greater use of available neurotransmitters. While Deplin claims to work through a “natural process in the brain to regulate all three monoamine neurotransmitters associated with mood by providing the increased dietary requirements for folate”, we all know this is not natural. People who are thinking of using Deplin need to realize that it can dramatically alter you blood pressure levels. If you know that you are sensitive to this issue, then you should speak to your doctor first, or simply avoid using this supplement. There are also other people using Deplin that complained of sleepless nights and strange dreams, as such you should not overlook the negative reactions that can occur with this product. We found these customer reviews via the Internet, so we suggest you also research further if you know you are at risk.

Deplin Price

Deplin’s price will vary based on concentration (7.5 mg, 8 mg, 15 mg or 75 mg). However, this is a very expensive form of treatment and many consumers may not be able to afford it. This product should be available for purchase from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts but the overall cost of the treatment will remain extremely high. If you can’t afford Deplin, it is recommended to talk with your doctor. He may be able to offer you alternative treatments. Please take into consideration that this product is recommended for severe depression only. If you are diagnosed with mild to moderate depression, anxiety or panic attacks, you should focus on more affordable treatments.

Does Deplin Work?

Deplin has received mixed reviews on the Internet. Some consumers appears to be satisfied with the results, while others are reporting poor results, unwanted side effects and even an increased level of depression after the treatment. This supplement is extremely expensive and the manufacturer does not offer a free trial sample for those interested in starting a treatment with Deplin. Thus, we recommend our readers to further research into this product before making a final decision. We also recommend patients to consult with their doctor before taking this supplement. He may be able to offer you cheaper and safer alternatives. Deplin may be appealing to those who suffer from severe depression. However, we believe there may be better options out there.

#10. Prevagen Reviews

by Quincy Bioscience

Prevagen is a called a “brain power supplement” on the official website and claims to perform many key benefits for people who are experiencing memory loss. Overall, the Prevagen brain supplement claims to help make the brain stronger, healthier and helps to boost your brainpower. In addition to helping with memory loss, Prevagen is supposed to help people concentrate more easily and claims to help people focus more. …

Is Prevagen Right For You?

Prevagen is advertised as a brain supplement able to help make the brain stronger, healthier and helps to boost your brainpower. The company behind this supplement is Quincy Bioscience, a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of different medicines. The brain will try to protect its cells from degradation generated by the aging process, by producing a special protein that controls the cellular calcium. If the calcium levels are too high, cells will be destroyed. With the natural aging process, this particular protein is generated in smaller amounts which can lead to a high level of calcium in cells. The producing company claims that Prevagen was developed as a product that promotes and enhances cognitive functions by improving memory and protecting the brain by supplying it with the required protein, apoaequorin (a protein that has the property to bind calcium).

Ingredients of Prevagen

Prevagen includes the following ingredients: apoeaquorin, white rice flour, sodium chloride, magnesium stearate, acetic acid, TRIS buffer and EDTA.

Effectiveness of Prevagen

According to the manufacturer, Prevagen is a brain supplement that has the property to bind calcium in cells, thus reducing the damage which occurs when the body stops to produce enough calcium binding proteins. To support their claims, Quincy Bioscience provides a number of clinical studies and researches. While these researches haven’t been confirmed by the FDA, the official Prevagen website claims that consumers will feel the first positive results in 30 to 90 days. The key ingredient in this formula is the apoaequorin protein which is extracted from jellyfish. This protein is responsible for the whole calcium binding process and it was discovered in the early ’60. Quincy Bioscience has conducted a number of researches and it appears that, according to these studies, the apoaequorin protein mainly benefits consumers by enhancing their decision-making skills, mental clarity and it helps them improve the short term and the long term memory. The manufacturer also claims that Prevagen is side effects free, non-toxic and well tolerated. However, we recommend our readers to consult with a doctor before taking this supplement.

Prevagen Price

A bottle of Prevagen contains 30 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 1 capsule per day. Prevagen is an expensive brain supplement and some consumers may not be able to afford it. The product should be available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from various online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts, free shipping or even free bottles for bigger orders.

Does Prevagen Work?

The aging process is a process that affects both body and brain. Prevagen has been advertised as a miraculous supplement that will offer fast and noticeable results. If this product is really as good as advertised by the manufacturer, consumers will greatly benefit from this supplement. However, with the supplement’s shortcomings, caution should be taken prior to its consumption. The claims behind Prevagen appear to be supported by several clinical studies and researches. While some of these studies have not been confirmed by the FDA, this product does looks promising. Prevagen is also accompanied by many positive reviews and testimonials. Many consumers have reported improvements after taking this product. Nevertheless, we advice caution and we recommend our readers to further research into this product before making a purchase.

Is Cerefolin NAC Right For You?

Cerefolin NAC is a prescription medication designed to help those people who have beginning stages of memory loss. The company behind this product is Pan American Laboratories, Inc. As it is a prescription medication, it requires a physician’s prescription in the United States. This drug is listed as a medical dietary supplement and its intended use is to aid in slowing memory loss. According to the manufacturer, this drug works by providing the body with folate, vitamin B12, and a form of antioxidant, which helps to reduce or eliminate oxidative stress and lower homocysteine levels. Please keep in mind that Cerefolin NAC is a prescription drug and it may not be recommended in some medical conditions. We strongly advise patients to talk with their doctors or pharmacists before taking this drug.

Ingredients of Cerefolin NAC

Cerefolin NAC includes the following ingredients: L-methylfolate 5.6mg, Methylcobalamin 2mg, N-acetylcysteine 600mg, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Opadry™ (Hypromellose), Talc, Titanium Dioxide, Polyethylene Glycol, Saccharin Sodium and Magnesium Stearate (Vegetable Source).

Effectiveness of Cerefolin NAC

Cerefolin NAC works by increasing certain hormones in the body that are responsible for good memory and are able to pass the blood brain barrier (a membrane, or sack which completely surrounds your brain, filters your blood before it enters the brain). Please remember that although this is able to pass the blood brain barrier, it is still an artificial means of stimulating the neurotransmitters in the brain. Now, in some patients, this may be the last resort if the memory loss is serious, but most other people should not try this unless they have first tried other natural options. The option we highly recommend, and the only one scientifically validated is by using amino acids supplementation that also contains the needed neuro-nutrients that your brain demands. This will establish the nourishment that your brain needs in order to have it working as it should. The drawbacks of Cerefolin NAC, are listed above (that it is an artificial means of stimulation and you will need to rely on it for the foreseeable future). Other drawbacks are that this is only available via prescription (at the time of writing). This drug is also not effective for individuals who have digestive issues, as this will not allow the absorption of the medication. The official website states that this drug is only for the reason of increasing memory, but other websites have given other reasons not indicated on the official website. We recommend you do not follow this advice. Just like all others prescription drugs, Cerefolin NAC has been associated with many side effects. The minor side effects include bloated feeling, headache, itching, mild diarrhea, mild fever, nausea and vomiting. The more severe ones include severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), lower back or side pain.

Cerefolin NAC Price

Cerefolin NAC is available by prescription only. Prices may vary depending on the method used to pay for it. The cost of the doctor’s visit should also be included in cost calculations. This product may also be available for online purchase through websites located in other countries than the United States.

Does Cerefolin NAC Work?

The effectiveness of Cerefolin NAC is the topic of several medical studies. According to these studies, patients suffering from mental memory issues need to increase their folic acid intake. This drug contains the right ingredients that do that. Based on some of these studies, consumers who are using this drug think faster and their mental reaction time is faster than it was before taking Cerefolin NAC. However, please keep in mind that this is a prescription drug and is available for purchase with a doctor’s written permission only. Also, just like with all other chemical drugs, Cerefolin NAC has been associated with many side effects. While this product may look promising, we believe that there are better alternatives out there. Thus, we advise our readers to further research into possible alternatives and talk with their physician before making a final decision.

#12. Neu-Becalm'd Reviews

by NeuroGenesis, Inc

Neu-Becalm'd is one of the better brain supplements that we have come across. It is an amino acid approach to balanced brain chemistry. As such this could be a useful supplement for many types of people (ADD, ADHD, anxiety sufferers and so on). The company behind this product is NeuroGenesis, Inc and they have tried to develop a product to supply adequate dietary quantities of specific amino acids to naturally help the body return to a normal state of health. …

Is Neu-Becalm’d Right For You?

Neu-Becalm’d is advertised as an amino acid approach to balanced brain chemistry and it is one of the better brain supplements that we have come across. The company behind this product is NeuroGenesis, Inc. According to their website, they have tried to develop a product to supply adequate dietary quantities of specific amino acids to naturally help the body return to a normal state of health. The manufacturer claims this product may be an effective treatment for ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression and other related conditions. The company supports its claims with a number of clinical studies and trials that show this product has a much better affect on the brain than an herbal or multivitamin supplement can perform. Unfortunately Neu-Becalm’d has been associated with a number of unwanted side effects. Also, some drugs may interact with the nutrients in this supplement.

Ingredients of Neu-Becalm’d

Neu-Becalm’d includes the following ingredients: 5-HTP, Calcium, D/L- Phenylalanine, Folic Acid, L-Glutamine, Magnesium and Vitamin B6.

Effectiveness of Neu-Becalm’d

As the brain uses large numbers of certain chemicals called neurotransmitters, the brain can run out of them as the stress builds up. However, the human brain has evolved to naturally manufacture these neurotransmitters provided the right quantities of raw materials are present. These raw materials are the nutrients we get from food each day. These days, our normal diet does not provide us with the quantity of nutrients we need, so the best solution is using an amino acids supplement like Neu-Becalm’d (which contains the same chemical elements as whole foods). As such, this process works by providing specific amino acids and vitamins that do not naturally occur in the body, but which can improve the brain’s performance. If you are able to supplement with the right ingredients, then you could think and feel much better overall. The great thing about amino acid products is that they are associated with less or no side effects, as they are based on our natural diet. As stated above, Neu-Becalm'd is an all-natural remedy for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), ADD (attention deficit disorder), hypertensive (high blood pressure) and stress related conditions, as well as alcohol and drug recovery maintenance. The formula contains a proprietary blend of L-Glutamine, Phenylalanine, 5 Hydroxy Tryptophan (better known as 5-HTP), Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Calcium and Folic Acid (Folate). Vitamin B6 and folic acid deficiencies are associated with anxiety and depression. Several clinical studies have suggested that supplementation with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium and folic acid can help reduce symptoms of ADHD and ADD.

Neu-Becalm’d Price

This product is sold via a number of affiliate websites and the price seems to vary from one retailer to another. One bottle of Neu-Becalm’d contains 90 capsules, which should be enough for up to 15 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 1 to 6 capsules per day. This supplement is an average-priced product and it should be available for purchase from numerous online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger orders.

Does Neu-Becalm’d Work?

There are several similar products inside the same product range, which can make your choice a little more complicated. Neu-Becalm’d appears to be a good product that has received numerous positive reviews and testimonials. Unfortunately, it does lack some of the vital ingredients that we would have liked to see inside it. We have rated it more highly than many other supplements as it is much closer to the goal of proving real brain nourishment, but Neu-Becalm’d falls a little short.

#13. Juvenon Reviews

by Juvenon, Inc

Juvenon is marketed as an anti aging product via their website. They state that it can “postpone cellular aging”. They state that using this supplement can give the user more energy, a sharper mind and a better memory, more restful sleep, healthier blood pressure and younger looking skin. Of course, we would all like to have these things, but can they be contained in a new supplement? …

Is Juvenon Right For You?

Juvenon is advertised as a combination of natural micronutrients with an anti aging effect. According to its official website, this supplement was created by a team of award-winning scientists at the University of California, a team led by the renowned biochemist and geneticist Dr. Bruce Ames. The manufacturer claims that this product can postpone cellular aging. They state that using this supplement can give the user more energy, a sharper mind and a better memory, more restful sleep, healthier blood pressure and younger looking skin. Of course, we would all like to have these things, but can they be contained in a new supplement? It seems like Juvenon is trying to target many markets and customers all at once. They are trying to include the feel and look younger crowd with the people that want to improve their mental functioning.

Ingredients of Juvenon

Juvenon includes the following ingredients: Dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, croscarmellose sodium, titanium dioxide, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, dextrin, peppermint oil, glycerin, dextrose monohydrate, lecithin soya and sodium citrate-dihydrate.

Effectiveness of Juvenon

According to the official website, Dr. Ames and his researching team discovered during several pre-clinical tests that by using the right combination of a powerful antioxidant (alpha lipoic acid) and a natural energy-boosting component (acetyl L-carnitine), they could improve the health of mitochondria that will eventually lead to a slower cellular aging process. However, we find it hard to categorize exactly what this supplement is as it contains such a blend of ingredients, both good and bad. There are a number of very good amino acids contained in the ingredients listings, however this also appears to be just an antioxidant supplement overall. The sales material states that it is a new antioxidant supplement for heart health, made with a special and proprietary blend of black and green tea extracts. As such, this would class it as an herbal remedy approach. Overall, we would have to class it is an herbal approach, as the core focus is on the extracts and what they can do for the healthy cells. They have included some ingredients that help to turn food into energy and to protect the cells from oxidants, such as free radicals. This could certainly be helpful for younger looking skin, providing you also have a good diet in place, but the effect on your mental functions is not going to be greatly affected. There have been people who have tried to use this supplement to help cognitive functions and to slow the process of memory loss as they age, but the supplement appears to be far more suited to the body than the brain. The Juvenon ingredients simply are not able to play an important role in supporting the nourishment of the brain or helping it to create and build new neurotransmitters itself.

Juvenon Price

A bottle of Juvenon contains 60 tablets, which should be enough for 2 months of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 tablets per day. This product should be available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from a number of online retailers. Overall, Juvenon is an average-priced supplement but its price may vary from one retailer to another. Some retailers may offer additional discounts and promotions.

Does Juvenon Work?

The development team claims this product is effective for a short time period and it shows the best results for people 50 year-old and above. On long term, however, this supplement may not be the best solution. This formula can be described as a mixture of good and bad ingredients. While the formula does include ingredients that help to turn food into energy and to protect the cells from oxidants, these ingredients are not effective in dealing with cognitive functions. A simple Internet search will reveal that Juvenon has received mixed reviews and testimonials. While some consumers have reported positive results, others have reported no results whatsoever. Thus, we advise our readers to further research into this product, its formulation and its effectiveness before making a final decision.

Is Procera AVH Right For You?

Procera AVH is a brain supplement using the herbal remedy approach to the issue of mood enhancement, brain fog, forgetfulness, mood swings, sleep loss, aging and poor diet. The company behind this product is Brain Research Labs. This supplement is one of the very few supplements manufactured by this company. According to the official website, Brain Research Labs was co-founded by Robert Heller and Josh Reynolds. Together they have more than 40 years experience in the emerging field of brain performance and health. The website claims their formulas are the result of years of research alongside top neurosurgeons, neurologists, cognitive psychologists and neuroscientists from prestigious medical schools and universities. This product is set to address a huge number of issues. This is the first red flag that was raised when we reviewed this product. Next, the Procera AVH supplement claims to be a breakthrough in this field, and to have been tested clinically. In fact, the website states that it underwent a “landmark clinical trial”, but the place, people present, tests and findings are not given. The website uses claims that Procera is able to restore the memory and brain power to the state you had 10-15 years ago. Again, there is no evidence provided for this.

Ingredients of Procera AVH

Procera AVH includes the following ingredients: Vinpocetine, Huperzine A and Acetyl –L Carnitine.

Effectiveness of Procera AVH

While Procera AVH is advertised as a supplement that can increase cerebral vascular blood flow and support increased memory capacity and mood, there are a few issues with the product that concern us. First of all, they don’t actually list the full set of ingredients that are included in the supplement. Instead they just state it “contains a proprietary blend of safe, natural and effective ingredients”. This is totally unsatisfactory and most people will not be happy with this explanation. The second problem is with the huge number of health issues that this product claims to address. Procera AVH contains three key ingredients: Vinpocetine (a natural extract of the periwinkle flower.), Huperzine A (a Chinese Club Moss extract and works as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor) and Acetyl –L Carnitine (a natural element that can be found in the body and brain). There are no amino acids mentioned in the list of ingredients, so this product is unlikely to offer any serious brain benefits. Amino acids are needed in order to nourish the brain and provide the environment that it needs to increase your mood, increase your memory level, reduce mental fog and allow for a good night’s sleep. The website claims to restore the neurotransmitters with this supplement, but this is not possible without the vital amino acids and the correct neuro-nutrients. These ingredients are not listed in the products description, and there would be no reason to hide them from the website. This is a very strange statement to make, considering this is just another herbal supplement. There are very few testimonials on the website. This is another red flag taking into consideration the side of the company and the length of time this product has been on the market.

Procera AVH Price

A bottle of Procera AVH contains 60 tablets, which should be enough for 20 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 tablets per day. Procera AVH is an expensive supplement and many consumers may not be able to afford it. However, the overall price may vary from one retailer to another. Some retailers may also offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger purchases.

Does Procera AVH Work?

Procera AVH appears to target the elderly or senior citizens for best results. While the manufacturer claims this product is side effects free, we advise our readers to consult with their doctor before taking this supplement. Brain Research Labs is trying to support their claims by providing several clinical trials and studies on this product. However, most of these studies were performed outside of the United States and people present, tests and findings are not given. Another red flag is the lack of relevant information on this product. Most of the reviews and articles we were able to find came from the manufacturer itself or from its partners. Based on all these observations, we find it difficult to say with absolute certitude if this supplement is effective or not.

Many specialized websites highly recommend PureCalm for those who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. This supplement may not be effective in treating the chronic depression.

Is Relora Right For You?

Relora is an herbal brain supplement that is advertised to target the issue of stress and appetite control. The company behind this product is Now Foods, a company that produces various supplements in a range of different markets. This is a mass-market that many supplements companies have tried to break into in recent years. Unlike some companies, Now Foods do post the product label on their Relora website for consumers to see. This is a welcome addition that we wish other companies would follow. The website states that Relora is a non-sedating formula that can help to alleviate symptoms associated with stress such as nervous tension, irritability, concentration difficulties and occasional sleeplessness. As with many other herbal approaches to stress and focusing issues, they use an herbal blend, which really provides just a band aid solution, which is always short term.

Ingredients of Relora

Relora includes the following ingredients: Magnolia officinalis bark, a proprietary extract from Phellodendron amurense bark, Rice Flour, Cellulose (capsule), Modified Food and Corn Starch, Silica and Magnesium Stearate (vegetable source)

Effectiveness of Relora

Relora is a blend of plant extracts from Magnolia officinalis and Phellodendron amurense and, as the company states, the formula appears to be more effective if used on a daily basis and for the long term. However, while the company claims the side effects of long-term herbal use are not known, some consumers have noted reactions to them. It should be noted that herbs can be helpful for specific medical issues but they are not usually supposed to be taken daily, and into the long term. On the other hand, herbs do stimulate neurotransmitters in an artificial manner, which is why some people get initial relief. However, these people would be much better offer with an amino acid supplement approach, which contains the ingredients found in whole food, which are the natural nutrients that the brain needs for nourishment, and the great benefits this permits. The manufacturer does a good job in advertising this product (and all their products as a matter of fact), as they have many affiliates and retailers to promote their supplements. It is important to note that Relora is mainly targeted towards treating the symptoms of stress. Taking this into consideration, it is a bit strange how more consumers have reported weight loss while using this product, but few testimonials report the mood enhancement, and stress relief that it seems to be targeted towards.

A bottle of Relora contains 60 Vcaps, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 1 capsule, 2 times a day. This is a cheap supplement and everyone should be able to afford it. Now Food products, including Relora, are sold via numerous online and offline retailers. Some of these retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger orders.

Does Relora Work?

Now Foods is a company with experience in developing and producing various supplements in a range of different markets. Relora is advertised toward mass-market that many supplements companies have tried to break into in recent years. However, oddly enough, this supplement appears to be more effective in treating weight problems than in treating the symptoms of stress and depression. One huge advantage of this product is its low price. Even without a free trial sample, everyone should be able to purchase and try this supplement. However, we believe there are better products out there. For instance, if you are looking to lose weight, then you may want to try Relora, but if you want stress relief, stick to an amino acid product.

by Bioneurix Corporation

Seredyn is a supplement that claims to be “scientifically proven to relieve anxiety, to help you feel more relaxed, confident, and in control”. As with many other claims we have seen previously, this one is not backed up with data or evidence to prove the Seredyn statements above. …

Is Seredyn Right For You?

Seredyn is a supplement that claims to be scientifically proven to relieve anxiety, to help you feel more relaxed, confident, and in control. The company behind this supplement is BioNeurix Corporation. According to their website, BioNeurix develops and distributes advanced natural medicines that set new standards within the nutraceutical industry for effectiveness, safety, and consistency. They also claim to have a balanced approach to health and wellness that combines the power of science with the wisdom of nature by bringing together the advantages of both alternative and conventional medicine. As with many other claims we have seen previously, this one is not backed up with data or evidence to prove the Seredyn statements above.

Ingredients of Seredyn

Seredyn includes the following ingredients: L-theanine, Passion Flower, Valerian, Niacinamide and Magnesium Taurinate.

Effectiveness of Seredyn

While the manufacturer cannot prove the effectiveness of the overall formula, the company does cite several studies regarding the effectiveness of the ingredients available in this formula. The ingredients show that this an herbal remedy approach to brain nutrition, as it contains a common mix of ingredients found on the market. You will find in researching various products that many manufacturers use L-theanine, which is commonly found in tea. L-theanine is an amino acid and is able to cross the blood brain barrier, which is usually why supplements contain this ingredient. This amino acid has been shown to reduce mental and physical stress and also to improve cognition and mood. While this is a vital amino acid, and something that the brain needs, it is often unusable as the herbs can prohibit the amino acids from acting as they should. This may or may not be the case with this product, but it is possible. Another prominent ingredient is valerian, which is prepared from roots of the plant called Valeriana officinalis. This ingredient is known to be very difficult to determine the amount needed, as there is a wide variation in the chemicals of the dried root. Valerian root is nontoxic, but may cause side effects, such as giddiness and disorientation when taken in large excessive doses. As with all herbal approaches to stress, anxiety and control, they only offer short term relief and do not provide the brain with the nourishment it needs every day in order to restore balance. An herbal approach is an artificial approach and only masks the underlying issue. A much better solution is to offer your brain the right amounts of vital amino acids, and neuro-nutrients (such as those found in whole food). This is a much more natural alternative to herbs and doses of vitamins which may offer health benefits but will not affect the brain in any significant way.

Seredyn Price

A bottle of Seredyn contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for up to 2 months of treatment. This supplement is an average-priced product compared to other similar products. It is available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from a number of online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts.

Does Seredyn Work?

We were pleasant surprised by the information provided on Seredyn’s official website. The manufacturer does cite a number of studies and clinical trials to prove the effectiveness of the ingredients but it fails to provide the same evidences to support the effectiveness of the overall formula. This product is accompanied by numerous positive testimonials and “success stories.” Seredyn has also received a number of positive reviews on specialized website and forums. However, an herbal approach is an artificial approach and only masks the underlying issue. We believe that a much better solution is to offer your brain the right amounts of vital amino acids, and neuro-nutrients by having a healthy diet or by taking a treatment with a top quality brain supplement such as HCF Happy, Calm & Focused.

Focus Formula is a herbal remedy approach to help people maintain concentration and improve their attention span. It is also advertised as being good for children by promoting normal energy levels. Is Focus Formula Right For You?

Focus Formula is an herbal remedy approach to help people maintain concentration and improve their attention span. It is also advertised as being good for children by promoting normal energy levels. The company that produces this remedy is Native Remedies. The official website states that the formula is able to improve concentration for all age ranges while helping to balance moods and emotions. It also states that the herbal remedy formula will promote the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the brain, resulting in better brain function, including processing and memory. It further states that this formula is a 100% safe, natural, non-addictive,  herbal remedy. Furthermore, they claim Focus Formula has been used for many years to safely maintain health and systemic balance in the brain and nervous system. We could not find evidence of this, as there are only a few reviews on their website, not enough to support such bold claims.

Ingredients of Focus Formula

Focus Formula includes the following ingredients: Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba), Skullcap (Scutellaria laterifolia), German chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Gotu cola (Centella asiatica), Wild Oats (Avena sativa), Extract of Nettle and Rooibos.

Effectiveness of Focus Formula

As stated above, Focus Formula is an herbal remedy that combines several well known ingredients. For those interested in natural remedies, the inclusion of Gingko Biloba into this formulation may be appealing. However, while this plant is considered safe with side effects rarely occurring, gastrointestinal problems, headaches, skin reactions, dizziness and bleeding complications have been reported with gingko use. Overall, just like with most holistic remedies, the problem with Focus Formula herbs is that they just trick your brain and stimulate certain neurotransmitters, instead of nourishing it for a long-term solution. Herbs have their place, but they are not a natural source of nutrition for humans, regardless of what any supplement company states. As a positive thing, Native Remedies is a company with a long history in developing and selling natural herbal remedies. The company enjoys a good reputation among consumers and, despite the lack of free trial samples; they do offer a “money back guarantee” program.

Focus Formula Price

Focus Formula is available in liquid form in bottles of 60 ml each. According to the manufacturer, a bottle should last for 25 to 30 days of treatment. This remedy is an average-priced supplement compared with other similar products. Focus Formula also have to option to buy 2 and get one free on the website.

Does Focus Formula Work?

This brain supplement tries to solve the issue of concentration and attention by using a “holistic” approach, which has become a buzzword in recent times. Just like many other companies, Focus Formula resorts back to ancient “wisdom” and old medicine traditions by using herbal ingredients. In order to provide the brain with nourishment and a truly natural environment (where it can create and build its own neurotransmitters), you need to supply it with whole foods, or amino acids that replicate the nucleus of whole foods. This product may be appealing to those who are looking for a natural way to improve their memory and cognitive function. However, it may not be as effective as a top quality brain supplement and it may not be as powerful as the manufacturer claims. Thus, we encourage our readers to further research into this product (and its ingredients) before making a purchase.

#19. Advanced Memory Formula Reviews

by Iceland Health

The Advanced Memory Formula supplement from Iceland Health can be seen on late-night infomercials. This Iceland Health supplement promises to boost your mood and energy levels as well as improving memory, concentration and focus. Advanced Memory Formula tries to break into the large brain nutrition market via a different group of ingredients to those we have been commonly reviewing here. While most have been either multivitamin products or herbal remedy approaches, this relies heavily on lipid (fat)-based omega-3 oils. …

Is Advanced Memory Formula Right For You?

Advanced Memory Formula is a brain supplement advertised as being able to promote healthy brain function, focus and mental clarity and increase recall of names and other important information. The company behind this product is Iceland Health. According to the official website, the company has over 30 years of experience in custom manufacturing and packaging nutritional supplements and consumer health products. Advanced Memory Formula tries to break into the large brain nutrition market via a different group of ingredients to those we have been commonly reviewing here. While most have been either multivitamin products or herbal remedy approaches, this relies heavily on lipid (fat)-based omega-3 oils.

Ingredients of Advanced Memory Formula

Advanced Memory Formula includes the following ingredients: Chromium picolinate, Phosphatidylserine (a fatty nutrient required by the brain), DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid – an omega-3 fatty acid essential to proper brain function), Vitamin E, EPA (essential fatty acid), boron and a phospholipid complex (containing phosphatidylserine), gelatin, glycerin, purified water and titanium dioxide

Effectiveness of Advanced Memory Formula

The manufacturer of Advanced Memory Formula plays up an interesting fact that Icelanders have the longest life expectancy and best health in the world. In light of this, they claim their supplement gives consumers the benefits of a rich Icelandic diet, and as a result, they will be as healthy as an Icelander. This is indeed an interesting concept but does this supplement really work? As stated above, this formula contains DHA. The issue we have here is that Omega-3 capsules and oils can be easily and inexpensively found over-the-counter in the form of fish and flax oils. We wanted to know how this as different from the generic supplements that have been on the market for decades, and what it could offer. Various others vitamins and minerals have also been added to this formulation. There seem to be many companies that add extra ingredients that the public is familiar with, in order to increase sales. While having extra vitamins and minerals is not dangerous, there is often little benefit in terms of brain performance, stress relief or reduction in anxiety, as so few of them cross the blood brain barrier. Iceland Health, via their products, is trying to help people with mild memory problems, which is usually the aging population. We find it unlikely that an increase in Omega-3 is going to make a major difference. The advertising material suggests that it will help to maintain brain fluidity and help with cognitive functions, but Advanced Memory Formula is not backed up with scientific data. There are a number of testimonials on the website from satisfied customers, but they are not related to the product in question. They are customer comments based on other products from the company. The website is well laid out, and easy to navigate, and they display the phone number and address, which is a plus point. However, it lacks all relevant information (except for the list of ingredients) regarding this product: how is supposed to work, relevant studies and researches, conclusive information about ingredients, testimonials and the effectiveness of the overall formula.

Advanced Memory Formula Price

A bottle of Advanced Memory Formula contains 30 soft gels. Unfortunately, this product is more expensive that many other memory enhancers we have reviewed. Advanced Memory Formula is available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from various online retailers. Please take into consideration the shipping costs when placing an order.

Does Advanced Memory Formula Work?

Advanced Memory Formula incorporates several key nutrients that are demonstrated to enhance brain function. However, this product did not achieve the same level of results as our top-rated product. The lack of relevant information is also a reason for concern. We usually recommend our readers to avoid products that are not accompanied by enough positive reviews and testimonials, relevant clinical studies, a complete list with ingredients and at least basic information on those ingredients. While Advanced Memory Formula may be an effective formula, it is impossible to make a final statement without the necessary documentation.

Cho Wa is a green tea that is manufactured by Kumato Labs. Kumato Labs is based in Signal Hills, CA and was founded by Dr. Kumato to “bring the traditional Japanese remedies to the rest of the world”. Cho Wa tea comes with a very nice story and states that it is a special formula said to have originated in Japan centuries ago when it was only available to the Shogun. …

Is Cho-Wa Right For You?

Cho Wa is a green tea which is said to have many health benefits, including enhancing the immune system, protecting the body from disease, and assisting with optimal organ function. This product is manufactured by Kumato Labs. Kumato Labs is based in Signal Hills, CA and was founded by Dr. Kumato. According to their website, his purpose was to bring the traditional Japanese remedies to the rest of the world. We have found interesting that, unlike other supplements, this product comes with a very nice story according to which, Cho Wa is a special formula said to have originated in Japan centuries ago when it was only available to the Shogun. The story states that Dr. Kumato visited the Sensei healer on the mountain for years before he was able to get the formula for the Sensei’s miraculous tea. Stories on a third party website  talk about the amazing healing properties of this tea. The official website  is actually very slim on content and does not even list the ingredients. It seems to be just a sales site and ordering mechanism, with the story of the legend.

Ingredients of Cho-Wa

Cho-Wa includes the following ingredients: green tea, rhodiola, ginkgo, epimedium, astragalus root, lyceum, euphoria fruit, licorice fruit, shiitake, reishi, and maitake.

Effectiveness of Cho-Wa

Cho Wa tea is another herbal remedy approach to a number of different health related issues such as weight loss, immunity support and fighting diseases. It appears to be another ancient ingredient that tries to be the solution to any and all number of health issues, but which provides no scientific basis for this claim. The official website itself has less than 500 words of content, so we had to search a number of affiliated websites just to find the information we needed for this review. That alone should tell you something about the nature of the product. It is important that you know this product contains caffeine, which is a simple stimulant, as found in coffee and regular tea. This is certainly not a healthy stimulant, as you need to keep topping it up in order to feel the energy you just lost. Besides this, stimulating the neurotransmitters in the brain is not natural for the brain. The brain wants a healthy, nourished environment which can be only be created with the right dose of whole food amino acids and neuro-nutrients. We were able to find some information on Cho Wa’s most important ingredients. However, please keep in mind that this information comes from different websites, books and studies. The official website does not list any conclusive researches, ingredients, studies, how this formula is supposed to work or its benefits. Cho Wa contains green tea, which is believed to have many health benefits. It is said to increase metabolism, reducing the effects of LDL cholesterol and assisting consumers in losing weight. Astragalus root is believed to be a specific immune enhancer, and has been specifically used in cancer patients. Rhodiola is said to improve patient’s curb depression, mood and improves physical and mental performance. Once again, we would like to point out that this information may not be relevant to the overall formula. In fact, we do not know how the Cho Wa’s formula is supposed to work.

Cho-Wa Price

Cho Wa is an expensive product. This supplement can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website or from a few online retailers. One box of Cho Wa contains 30 packets, which should be enough for one month of treatment.

Does Cho-Wa Work?

The lack of relevant information on this product is truly disturbing. The official website itself has less than 500 words of content, so we to further research into multiple affiliate websites just to find some information for this review. The corporate website for Cho Wa does not contain clinical trial information proving the effectiveness of this tea. The website, does, however, contain some customer testimonials. The product has received mixed reviews on specialized websites. Some consumers have reported some positive results after using this product, while others have reported no results whatsoever. This product also contains caffeine, which can have side effects such as increased heart rate, increased blood pressure and jitters. In the end, we would advise our readers to be really careful with this product. It may look appealing (especially due to its interesting story) but its effectiveness has never been proven.

#21. Kavinace Reviews

by NeuroScience, Inc.

Kavinace is an amino acid approach to brain nutrition supplementation. The description of this supplement states that it is able to promote sleep and reduce anxiousness by supporting GABA. They also state that this is the most calming product from NeuroScience. …

Is Kavinace Right For You?

Kavinace is an amino acid approach to brain nutrition supplementation that is advertised to be able to promote sleep and reduce anxiousness by supporting GABA. The company behind this product is NeuroScience. The company specializes in neurotransmitter clinical research and the development of medical programs for some of today’s most challenging health conditions producing best sellers such as Travacor, Adrecor, Calm-PRT, Kavinace, TransLean Plus, ExcitaPlus, BalanceD, Serene, LoraQuil, TheaNAQ, ExcitaCore or GabaMax. The company claims this product is one of their best calming supplements. The manufacturer states that Kavinace is uniquely designed to enhance GABAA and GABAB receptor function, as well as promote GABA levels. According to the company, this formulation is different from traditional GABA supplementation. The key ingredient, 4-amino-3pghenylbutyric acid, can easily cross the blood-brain barrier and acts like a GABA agonist.

Ingredients of Kavinace

Kavinace includes the following ingredients: Proprietary blend (Taurine and 4-amino-3-phenylbutyric acid), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Vegetable Cellulose and Magnesium Stearate.

Effectiveness of Kavinace

If you have read other reviews on this website then you will have seen our views on the presence of GABA in supplements. In order to quickly re-state the problem of GABA, we want to point out that GABA does work, and is produced naturally by your brain, but artificially ingesting it only works for a short time. This means that it does works to pass your blood brain barrier and then affect your neurotransmitters. However as it is not a natural process, the effect will wear of, at which time your brain will need to build up its own levels of natural GABA. In order to do this, many people need to take another supplement called l-glutamine. As such, we would agree that the supplement will clam people down, and reduce their anxiety, however we disagree with the process used, as there is a much more natural way to reach the same state of feeling and well being. It is important that readers realize that they can build up their own levels of GABA, feel much calmer and be healthier by giving their brain the nourishment that it needs. This is done by ingesting the right neuro-nutirents and amino acids. You can find these in the ingredients of wholesome foods, but they are also found in a very good amino acid supplement.

Kavinace Price

Kavinace is available in bottles of 60 or 120 capsules each. The recommended dosage is 2 capsules per day. Unfortunately, Kavinace is more expensive than many other similar supplements. Thus, many consumers may not be able to purchase it.

Does Kavinace Work?

If you are going to use an amino acid supplement, then we suggest that you find one without GABA. These can be found on the market, and we have chosen one as out “top pick”. While the Kavinace brain supplement is much better than many others we have reviewed, such as most multivitamins, we rated it down due to the GABA content. We were also unable to find many testimonials or reviews from customers on Kavinace.

Is Focus Fast Right For You?

Focus Fast is a brain supplement advertised as being able to improve working memory and boost your attention. The company that produces this supplement is Enyotics Health Sciences. This is very similar to many other multi-vitamin supplements in the marketplace and uses very similar ingredients (which are covered in detail below). As with so many products in this marketplace, this supplement contains well over fifty ingredients. They seem to think that bombarding you with more ingredients will make more people buy. Whether or not that is the case is not clear, but the fact is that all of these Focus Fast ingredients do not make the product more effective. Your brain needs to have enough of the key amino acids and associated neuro-nutrients, which our neurotransmitters and hormones need every hour of the day. This will ensure that you are nourishing your brain. This is not done with a multi-vitamin supplement as the amino acids are found in very low quantities.

Ingredients of Focus Fast

Focus Fast includes the following ingredients: Vitamin C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Chromium. Neuro Focusing Agent – Acute Attention Complex: Gotu Kola, American Ginseng Root Extract, Inositol, Rosemary Leaf, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, CoEnzyme Q10, Vinpocetine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Bacopa Monnieri Extract. Advanced Neuro Complex: Lemon Balm Leaf, Alpha-GPC, Huperzia Serrata, Choline, L-Phenylalanine, Choline, Mucuna Pruriens Seed Extract, Soy Lecithin, DMAE, L-Tyrosine. Deep Memory Complex: Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Ashwagandha Root, Phosphatidylserine, Pyroglutamic Acid, Chlorella, Royal Jelly. Maximum Focus Complex: Panax Ginseng Root Extract, 5-HTP, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, St. John’s Wort Extract, Green Tea Leaf Extract (decaf), L-Theanine.

Effectiveness of Focus Fast

The manufacturer makes some very big claims regarding this product. For instance, the official website says that Focus Fast is the World’s No. 1 and only Neuro Focusing Agent designed to improve working memory, increase focus and enhance attention. We are sure you would agree this is a very big claim to make without offering a shred of evidence to back it up. Furthermore, the product’s official website states that this supplement is using scientifically proven ingredients in precise ratios, making this formulation the only formulation to use the multi-pathway approach of Neuro Focusing Technology. Focus Fast claims to enhance your attention span, improve your working memory, and increase your focus in just one easy serving. Again, we were unable to verify these claims with relevant clinical studies or researches. On the other hand, the official website comes with an intuitive and simple design and it contains some of the necessary information for people to make a decision. However it also contains a lot of hype and inflated claims for a multivitamin. Overall, we believe that this supplement is just one of the many similar products available on the market. This is like many other glorified multi-vitamin products, as many of the ingredients are not going to pass the blood-brain barrier. You need to have the precise amino acids and associated neuro-nutrients, such as those found in whole food, in order to pass the BBB and naturally build your neurotransmitters.

Focus Fast Price

Focus Fast is an average priced supplement. It can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website (no shipping costs) or from a number of online retailers. Some retailers may also offer discounts and promotions.

Does Focus Fast Work?

Surprisingly or not, Focus Fast has received numerous positive reviews and testimonials. Many consumers have reported positive results even from the first day of use. This formula contains a huge list of ingredients. While some people may be attracted by that (most of these ingredients are well known ingredients in many brain supplements and multivitamins), we are not entirely convinced this is the best way to go. Focus Fast promotes itself as a memory boosting supplement. However, such a product needs to have the precise amino acids and associated neuro-nutrients, such as those found in whole food, in order to pass the BBB and naturally build your neurotransmitters. We believe Focus Fast does not have these properties.

#23. BrainQuicken Reviews

by Body Quick, LLC

BrainQuicken is a very common type of herbal remedy approach to brain nutrition supplementation. It uses a method of treating the brain very similar to that of many other products we have reviewed on this website. What is very interesting about BrainQuicken and the company behind it is that it has been changed over 27 times in just six years. This is something that has raised a flag for us when creating this review. …

Is BrainQuicken Right For You?

BrainQuicken (also known under the brand name BodyQuick) is a very common type of herbal remedy approach to brain nutrition supplementation that claims to improve study skills, memory and athletic performance. The company behind this product is Body Quick. The formula uses a method of treating the brain very similar to that of many other products we have reviewed on this website. However, what is very interesting about this supplement and the company behind it is that it has been changed over 27 times in just six years. This is something that has raised a flag for us when creating this review. While there is no harm or fault in trying to improve a supplement, when claims are made about how effective the BrainQuicken ingredients are, only to be changed again next month, it raises eyebrows. Not only that, but as this is an herbal approach to brain supplementation, there is only so much that is can offer. The claims made by the manufacturer are not supported with any scientific data however. According to the official website, this product is accompanied by a 60-day, 110% money-back guarantee. However, when we tried to access this option, the website said this offer is “on hold”, and the product is only available from online retailers. Thus, there seems to be no real money-back guarantee or free trials of this product available.

Ingredients of BrainQuicken

BrainQuicken includes the following ingredients: Cobalamin, Niacinamide, Folic Acid, 2-dimethylaminoethanol, Pyridoxine HCL, Pantothenic Acid (Calcium Pantothenate), Proprietary Cognamine™ Complex (including components of: Phosphatidylserine, Choline Bitartrate, Vinpocetine, Salix Alba, Thioctic Acid, L-Tyrosine, Ciwujia.

Effectiveness of BrainQuicken

Just like with most herbal supplements, no double blind studies have been conducted on this product. On top of that, we had some serious troubles in identifying the official website of this supplement. Furthermore, the website looks more like a TV infomercial than an actual source of information for those interested in purchasing BrainQuicken. The product claims to improve study skills, memory, athletic performance and it claims to be a safe stimulant. As there is no evidence to back it up, it is unclear if this supplement will improve your health at all. The product is not suitable for vegetarians and there are no free samples available, which is something that we look for when rating supplements on this website. Also from a brain nourishment standpoint, all herbal remedy approaches do is to produce an artificial environment by stimulating certain neurotransmitters in the brain, without actually providing the much needed neuro-nutrients that are natural and get the brain working as it was designed to do. With the herbal approach, there are no long term benefits, it only a short term band-aid.

BrainQuicken Price

BrainQuicken is an average-priced supplement but some consumers may not be able to afford it. This product is available in bottles of 90 capsules each, which should be enough for 45 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day. BrainQuicken appears to be available for purchase from online retailers only. Some retailers may offer additional discounts. When placing an order, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does BrainQuicken Work?

BrainQuicken has received many negative reviews and testimonials. The lack of information and the questionable claims from the official website are raising a red flag on this product. While the manufacturer and some of its retailers are mentioning a 60-day, 110% money-back guarantee, when we tried to access this option, the website said this offer is “on hold”, and the product is only available from online retailers. This supplement claims to improve mental and athletic performance. The formula contains many vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to overall health but the effectiveness of BrainQuicken or the manufacturer’s claims have not been scientifically established.

#24. Attend Reviews

by Vaxa International

Attend is a multivitamin product that contains a huge number of over 60 ingredients, ranging from herbs to minerals, from amino acids to vitamins. These appear to be all blended into one brain supplement. It is difficult to know what was left out of the mix. …

Is Attend Right For You?

Attend is advertised as a multivitamin product with more than 95 ingredients (ranging from herbs to minerals and from amino acids to vitamins) in its formulation. The company behind this product is Vaxa International. These ingredients appear to be all blended into one brain supplement. It is difficult to know what was left out of the mix. First of all, we believe it is necessarily to caution readers about the possibly of some of the ingredients interacting with one another, as this is a common issue with many multi-ingredient supplements. If you know that you have a high sensitivity level, then do some in depth research before purchasing. The official website  claims that Attend can help a wide range of consumers from the student who needs extra help in school, to the professional who needs to coordinate multiple tasks, or even the athlete looking to sharpen their coordination. However, we were unable to find any relevant studies or researches to support these claims.

Ingredients of Attend

Attend includes the following ingredients: Kali Phosphoricum, Lithium Carbonicum, Naturum Muriaticum, Agaricus Muscarius, Argentum Nitricum, Fluoricum Acidum, Hyoscyamus Niger, Iodium, Kali Bromatum, Humulus Lupulus, Ignatia Amara, Hypothalamus, Avena Sativa, Tarentula Hispanica, Valerian Officianalis, Cimicifuga Racemosa, Caffeinum aka Coffea Cruda, Lithium Bromatum, Magnesia Phos, Natrum Phos, Natrum Sulph, Medium Chain Triglycerides, L-Tyrosine, Alpha-Linolenic Acid, Green Tea Powder, Trifolium Pratense, Flax Seed Powder, Phosphatidycholine, Phosphatidylethanolamine, Phosphatidylinositol, EPA, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, DL-Methionine, L-Glutamic Acid, GABA, DMAE, Ginkgo Biloba, DHA, Conjugated Linoleic Acid, Eicosatrienoic Acid (from GLA powder), Arachidonic Acid, Glycine, DL-Phenylalanine, Radix Heraclei, Caproic Acid, Caprylic Acid, Capric Acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Lauric Acid, Pentadecanoic Acid, Myristic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Palmitoleic Acid, Stearic Acid, Arachidic Acid (from GLA powder), Oleic Acid, L-Glutathione, Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5), Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6), L-Cysteine, L-Cystine, Pycnogenol, Gotu Kola, Phosphatidylserine, NADH, L-5HTP, Chromium Nicotinate, Gelatin, Rice Flour and Dextrose

Effectiveness of Attend

We never recommend our readers to use supplements that include dozens of ingredients, as some of them are not even known to us. Many companies know that people respond to scientific and herbal sounding names, and therefore include them mainly for advertising purposes. Always look for familiar, or scientifically sound ingredients when making a brain supplement choice. It is also important to know the brain science behind the supplement. For example, it is almost impossible for a supplement with 95 ingredients to provide a high level of brain nourishment, as many, if not most will not pass the blood brain barrier, and will simply be wasted. Forcing as many ingredients as possible into your system in order to get “blasted” with nutrients can lead to the creation of a synthetic poison which is very dangerous for the body. For this reason it is important to know that the blood brain barrier is sensitive, as it is essentially a membrane, or sack, that filters the blood before it enters the brain. This is the reason that a supplement (or your diet) needs to have specific amino acids and the associated neuro-nutrients, which the brain uses to maintain your neurotransmitters and hormones. This is what leads to a healthy brain and body, a good outlook on life, energy and alertness. Now you can see how just being “bombarded” with a collection of vitamins, minerals, herbs and random amino acids will not help you. Nevertheless, this supplement appears to be somehow effective. Many users, especially those who have tried ADHD medications and noticed no effect, have reported some positive results after using this supplement. The manufacturer cites a double-blind clinical trial of Attend that shows a statistically significant difference in reaction time, performance, self-control, and focus after 30 days of Attend use (4 capsules a day). A number of customer reviews seems to support these findings; however, noticeable changes seem to emerge after a month of supplementation.

Attend Price

A bottle of Attend contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for up to 1 month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 to 4 capsules a day. Attend is a little on the expensive side and some consumers may not be able to afford the medication. The supplement is available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from a number of online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts.

Does Attend Work?

It is almost impossible to say with certitude if Attend works or not. Due to the huge number of ingredients and the lack of relevant studies, we have no real base for a conclusion regarding this supplement. While Attend has received some positive reviews and testimonials, the huge formula still raises a red flag. We never recommend our readers to use supplements that include dozens of ingredients. Some of these ingredients may react and lead to unwanted side effects. This multivitamin may look appealing to those who are looking for a way to support a healthy body and brain. However, we believe it is better to focus on products that have been fully researched, understood and proven to be effective.

#25. Neurostin Reviews

by Urban Nutrition, LLC

Neurostin is a brain supplement that claims to enhance your memory and improve mental functioning. It also claims to increase blood flow to the brain. This is essentially a herbal approach to brain supplementation as it contains green tea and uses it as a stimulant. We are not advocates of the Neurostin stimulant route for brain supplementation, however there are many products on the market that use this approach. A much more natural approach is to nourish the brain with amino acids that are naturally found in whole foods. …

Is Neurostin Right For You?

Neurostin is a brain supplement that is claimed to enhance your memory and improve mental functioning. The company that produces this supplement is Urban Nutrition, LLC. Ingredients of Neurostin

Neurostin includes the following ingredients: L-Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine, Phosphatidylserine, Vinopocetine, Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Green Tea, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Vitamin B5.

Neurostin is advertised as a memory supplement that contains Alpha-GPC and green tea, both of which have been proven to increase brain function, metabolism and weight loss. A number of clinical studies have been conducted on green tea for a variety of benefits. Vitamins B6 and B12 can be important for the metabolism of fat into energy which may be beneficial for the brain. Alpha Lipoic Acid is commonly used in weight loss supplements as an antioxidant to fight off free radical damage so cells can rejuvenate and recover after exercise. Overall, this supplement appears to have a reasonable memory sharpening formula that may be helpful for the body and the mind.

Neurostin Price

When Neurotsin was available it was priced at around $50 per box, which was the equivalent of a 1 month supply. As mentioned before we cannot guarantee that this product is available any longer, as retailers no longer seem to supply it.

Does Neurostin Work?

Based on the formula, there is no evidence to support that Neurostin may be dangerous. However, the manufacturer makes claims of clinically proven brain boosting functions for the product when these clinical trials were for the ingredients that it uses. That doesn't necessarily mean that these blend of ingredients will carry the same weight. We caution readers that are interested in buying Neurostin to be wary, the fact that the company is no longer making current information available for the product is a concern. In addition, there are a large number of customer complaints about poor business practices.

#26. Travacor Reviews

by NeuroScience, Inc.

Travacor is one of the most well-known brain supplements from the company NeuroScience, Inc. This is an amino acid supplement and one of the higher quality supplements that we have reviewed on this website. The main issue that we see for customers is that the supplement uses a synthetic amino acid, which is unnecessary. …

Is Travacor Right For You?

Travacor is an amino acid supplement by NeuroScience Inc., a company with a good reputation among consumers. It is specifically formulated to increase serotonin levels. The company claims that this formula helps relieve  low mood, cravings, anxiousness, and sleep issues. It supports serotonin using 5-HTP, which is the direct precursor to serotonin. According to the manufacturer nausea, vomiting, and other gastrointestinal issues are possible side effects of taking Travacor. Typically, these side effects subside shortly after regularly taking the product, however, should they persist speak with your primary care physician before continuing.

Ingredients of Travacor

Travacor includes the following ingredients: Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Selenium, Magnesium, Zinc, Taurine, 5-hydroxytryptophan, L-theanine, Vegetable cellulose (vegetarian capsules), Rice Flour and Magnesium Stearate.

Effectiveness of Travacor

According to the manufacturer, Travacor is designed to support sertonoin by using 5-HTP, which provides gentle support for the inhibitory neurotransmitter system through a unique combination of amino acids and vitamin and mineral co-factors. Travacor has been commonly used as an effective way to improve mood and sleep quality due to its amino acid and vitamin blend formula. Some of the positive things Travacor users have mentioned include:
  • helps with problems falling asleep
  • decrease mood swings
  • calm anxiousness

Travacor Price

This product is more expensive than many other similar supplements. In addition, Travacor is commonly pushed to be bundled with both Kavinace and Adrecor. This triple supplement suggestion is typically out of affordable ranges for the average consumer considering that each of these supplements alone is more expensive  than similar products. Travacor is available for purchase from numerous online retailers and the cost is usually within the same range.

Does Travacor Work?

There have been clinical studies that indicate one of the amino acids in the Travacor blend can improve cognitive function as well as enhance mood. The company does not make any reference or specific claim in relation to clinical studies based on its ingredients. Furthermore, there is no way to certify that the blend Travacor uses maintains these beneficial effects. The approach Travacor uses as a brain supplement along with its positive long standing history gives us some confidence in suggesting our readers look closely at Travacor as a product for mood and sleep issues specifically. We do want to stress that there may be other supplements to provide like benefits at less expense.

#27. Neuro-PS Reviews

by Puritan's Pride, Inc

Neuro-PS is another offering from Puritan’s Pride with the aim of helping to improve the memory, sharpening mental focus, promoting mental clarity and helping with learning ability. It is very interesting that the official Neuro-PS website clearly states that the FDA has concluded that there is little evidence to support the claim that PS will reduce the risk of cognitive dysfunction in the elderly. …

Is Neuro-PS Right For You?

Neuro-PS is a brain supplement advertised to help to improve  memory, sharpen mental focus, promote mental clarity and help with learning. The company behind this supplement is Puritan’s Pride. The company was founded over 40 years ago with the mission of making the finest quality nutritional supplements available at the best value. Unfortunately, the manufacturer fails to provide important information regarding their ingredients, specifics about the formula, clinical studies and information to support their claims. The manufacturer does not list any side effects but it recommends women who are pregnant, nursing or taking any medications to consult their doctor before use. Puritan’s Pride also states to discontinue use and consult your doctor if any adverse reactions occur.

Ingredients of Neuro-PS

Neuro-PS includes the following ingredients: Neuro-PS® (Phospholipid Complex from Soy Lecithin) (Standardized to contain Phosphatidylserine, 300 milligrams), Soybean Oil, Gelatin, Vegetable Glycerin, Soy Lecithin, Vegetable Cellulose, Dicalcium Phosphate, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Caramel Color, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, Titanium Dioxide Color, Silica and Calcium Silicate

Effectiveness of Neuro-PS

The key ingredient in this formula is Phosphatidylserine, a phospholipid which helps provide structural, physiological, and biochemical support to cell membranes, particularly in the brain. The manufacturer claims this ingredient may help improve memory, sharpen mental focus, promote mental clarity and supports learning ability. The manufacturer of Neuro-PS  acknowledges that very limited and preliminary clinical studies suggests that Phosphatidylserine may reduce the risk of cognitive dysfunction in the elderly. The FDA concludes that there is little scientific evidence supporting this claim.

Neuro-PS Price

Neuro-PS is an average priced supplement. The supplement can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website or from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts.

Does Neuro-PS Work?

The lack of information regarding this product cautions our promotion of Neuro-PS. Although Puritan’s Pride is a company with a rich history in developing and selling brain supplements, natural remedies and herbal extracts that have been consistently effective for consumers, this particular product and ingredient formula is not as clear-cut. During our research, we were able to find some mixed customer reviews and testimonials. Some consumers have reported positive results, while others have reported none whatsoever. There have been some studies indirectly based on certain ingredients used in Neuro-PS, though none have been extensively detailed with definitive findings.

They also claim that a treatment with Panicyl can give you your life back so you can  enjoy all of the activities you used to before your anxiety or panic attacks ripped them away from you. Most of these claims appear to be supported by a number of clinical studies and researches that the manufacturer has provided.

Ingredients of Panicyl

Panicyl includes the following ingredients: Ashwaganda, Withanolides, Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA), L-Theanine, Korean Ginseng (Panax), L-Tyrosine, L-Tryptophan, Rhodiola Rosea, Vinpocetine, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Folic Acid.

Effectiveness of Panicyl

This supplement may be appealing to those who are looking for a natural product to support and enhance their cognitive function. In fact, we believe Panicyl is so popular due to the well known ingredients incorporated into this formula. The manufacturer decided to use some extremely popular herbal extracts, vitamins and amino acids to promote this supplement. Ashwaganda for instance, has been used in India for thousands of years in ayurvedic (ancient) medicine as an anti-anxiety remedy. University and medical researchers have been studying this plant since at least the early 1960s. According to these studies, the plant contains compounds thought to have anti-stress properties. It is believed to work by suppressing dopamine receptors in the brain. Vinpocetine has been extensively studied in Europe. Based on these recent studies, it is believe that Vinpocetine can provide several advantages for the human brain including memory enhancement, increased cognitive performance, improved cerebral circulation and higher mental acuity and awareness. Overall, this is an interesting formula, Ayurvedic medicine  looks appealing and intriguing for some consumers due to its interesting history. It's important to know that many of these ayervedic remedies have not been studied by modern medicine. As such, their effectiveness has never been fully proven.

Panicyl Price

Panicyl is an average-priced supplement. You can purchase it directly from the manufacturer website or from several online retailers. Some retailers may offer various discounts and promotions.

Does Panicyl Work?

The Panicyl Corporation provides a lot of useful information on their product; a complete list of ingredients, ingredients’ descriptions, a number of clinical studies and trials to support their claims, and how the formula is designed to work. The company showcasing all of this information is a nice change of pace in the industry, a lot of competitor company's tend to make the assumption that we should just believe their product is the best. Based on the formula and information available regarding Panicyl, we can recommend those interested in more natural, herbal remedies to give it a reasonable test. Many customers provide positive feedback about taking Panicyl for anxiety issues. As always, it never hurts to do your own research about the product, company and ingredients.

Is Focus Smart Right For You?

Focus Smart is a brain supplement advertised as being able help user concentration and retention abilities. The company behind this product is Your Life. Increasingly, individuals experience focusing problems and memory issues at younger ages. This supplement claims to combat this problem. The manufacturer states that Focus Smart uses a combination of different nutrients to aid users in repairing and maintaining the functioning of their brains. Of particular importance is the ingredient known as Vinpocetine. This ingredient is said to be an effective nutrient in improving brain functioning and many proponents of this nutrient claim it increases the metabolism and stimulates blood flow to the brain. Presently, we cannot be certain of the availability of Neurostin. The manufacturer no longer provides updated information in regards to this product and no retailers  list it as being available for sale.

Ingredients of Focus Smart

Focus Smart includes the following ingredients: Dicalcium Phosphate, Cellulose, Ascorbic Acid, Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid, Magnesium Oxide, Potassium Citrate, Dimethylaminoethanol Bitartrate, L-Glutamine, Bacopa Extract, Inositol, N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine, Gelatin, Silicon Dioxide, Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate, Stearic Acid , dl-AlphaTocopheryl Acetate, Dextrin, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Ferrous Fumarate, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Zinc Oxide, Boron Citrate, Phosphatidylserine Complex, Hypromellose, Choline Bitartrate, Bilberry Extract, Corn Starch, Manganese Sulfate, Dextrose, Lecithin, Electrolyte Mineral Complex, Grape Seed Extract, Grape Skin Extract, Huperzine-A, Vinpocetine, Thiamine Mononitrate, Docosahexaenoic Acid, Fatty Acids, Resin, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose, Riboflavin, Vitamin A Acetate, Chromium Amino Acid Chelate, Caramel Color, Sodium Citrate, Polysaccharides, Cupric Oxide, Folic Acid, L-Ascorbyl Palmitate, Biotin, Natural Tocopherol, Sodium Selenate, Natural Citrus Flavor, Vanadyl Sulfate, Sodium Molybdate, Cyanocobalamin, Potassium Iodide and Cholecalciferol.

Effectiveness of Focus Smart

This formula has a potent blend of vital nutrients including Huperzine-A, Bacopa, Vinpocetine, and Phosphatidylserine that supports concentration and memory. The advanced formula behind Focus Smart also incorporates powerful antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and E, Selenium, Zinc and Grape Seed that help protect cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. Vinpocetine, maybe the most important addition to this formula, is a synthetic ethyl ester that is essentially an extract from the periwinkle plant. While people suggest it has cerebral-blood flow enhancing qualities, it is important to remember that it is being used as an artificial stimulant.  While artificial ingredients certainly will have an effect on the brain, they are not going to provide it with the nourishment it requires. Some of the positive things Focus Smart users have mentioned include:
  • noticed improved memory
  • affordable

Focus Smart Price

Focus Smart brain supplement was sold at a relatively low price, being around $20 per bottle. However, it appears that the supplement is no longer in production. Based on our online research, all of its retailers are reporting this product as unavailbe.

Does Focus Smart Work?

Focus Smart is touted as a nutritional supplement blend for the brain that supports concentration and memory. The manufacturer blatantly claims to compare the product with the popular Focus Factor supplement. Although some of the ingredients have been known to benefit cognitive function in regards to focus and memory, this particular formula seems to be more akin to a multi-vitamin. There have been many positive findings common among users who took Focus Smart, but there was never any significant clinical studies or research to prove if this formula could actually benefit focus, concentration, and memory.

#30. Clarocet Reviews

by The Medicor Labs Corporation

Clarocet is advertised to relieve stress and promote a sense of well being via what they call a “natural formulation”. This brain supplement is manufactured by the company Medicor Labs, which claims to bring together “advanced scientific research and long-recognized botanical remedies.” This is essentially another herbal remedy approach to brain nutrition and its aim is to reduce stress levels. …

Is Clarocet Right For You?

Clarocet is advertised to relieve stress and promote a sense of well being via what the company, Medicor Labs, call a "natural formulation”. According to the company, this supplement is claimed to bring together recognized herbal remedies and advanced scientific research. This is essentially another herbal remedy approach to brain nutrition and its aim is to reduce stress levels. There are five different Clarocet formulations that are advertised to address different needs and functions of the body. Clarocet NRI is for immediate response; Clarocet ERT is suggested to be used for those consumers who want extended release; Clarocet CS is for cognitive support; Clarocet PM is the nighttime formula and Clarocet Junior is said to gentle and mild enough for children.

Ingredients of Clarocet

Clarocet includes the following ingredients: Vitamin C, Thiamin (B1), Riboflavin, Niacin (B3), Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Zinc, St. John’s Wort, Arctic Root, Passion Flower, Valerian Root, Winter Cherry, 5-HTP, GABA and Acetyl-L-Carnitine.

Effectiveness of Clarocet

Once again Clarocet is another product that uses St. John’s Wort and it promotes it as the solution to brain nutrition. It is certainly not the solution, although there has been a resurgence of interest in recent years. Contrary to general belief, St. John’s Wort is not able to nourish the brain with the nutrients it needs. It is not able to provide the environment that your brain needs on a permanent basis, if improved mood and reduced stress is the desired effect. St. Johns Wort is not the solution to stress, it is just an artificial way to alter the neurotransmitters in the brain, for a short time. No one will receive lasting stress relief by using this ingredient. In fact, there are also some side effects that have been noted by users. For example, sensitivity to the sun, sexual dysfunction and headaches have all been reported by users. Clarocet doesn’t appear to contain any vital amino acids, or neuro-nutrients which are really the building blocks of a healthy and optimal functioning brain. These are the raw ingredients found in whole foods, and an amino acids supplement is the only form of supplement that mimics the reality of what the brain uses naturally. The company does offer some good information and is better than many others we have reviewed. They have some testimonials but they don’t offer a free trial on the supplement which is why we have rated it down, together with Clarocet’s reliance of St. John’s Wort.

Clarocet Price

A bottle of Clarocet contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for 30 to 60 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 1-2 capsules per day. This is an average-priced product, slightly more expensive than most of the similar supplements available on the market. You can purchase it directly from the manufacturer’s website or from various online retailers.

Does Clarocet Work?

Clarocet may look appealing to those who are familiarized with brain supplements and herbal remedies, especially due to its formulation that contains numerous well-known ingredients. However, simply adding popular vitamins, minerals, amino-acids and herbal extracts to a formulation doesn’t necessarily make it better. We do not like the addition of St. John’s Wort. Contrary to general belief, this ingredient is not a viable solution for those who want to support their brain functions and to treat the symptoms of stress and depression. St. John’s Wort is nothing more than a short-term replacement for more effective neuro-nutrients which are really the building blocks of a healthy and optimal functioning brain.

#31. Lucidal Reviews

by Advanced Metabolic Research Group

In reviewing and investigating Lucidal, we found a very striking resemblance to the Focus Factor product, which we have also reviewed. As such, we would also refer you to that review, as they are both so similar in nature and ingredients. It is also interesting that this product was released just a short time after the Focus Factor product was released to the market. …

Is Lucidal Right For You?

Lucidal is a classic multi-vitamin supplement with a collection of various ingredients. The company behind this product is Advanced Metabolic Research Group. This multi-vitamin supplement contains 10 vitamins, 5 minerals, and numerous botanical extracts. According to the manufacturer, this combination, when taken regularly, has been shown to improve short-term memory, vagueness and inattention. More specifically, it promises to support and increase one’s ability to maintain mental focus. While Advanced Metabolic Research Group is the producing company, the true mind behind this supplement is Dr. Larry McCleary. He claims that the supplement protects the brain against oxidizing free radicals and improves the brain’s energy production. However, in reviewing and investigating Lucidal, we found a very interesting resemblance to the Focus Factor supplement, which we have also viewed. It is also interesting that this multi-vitamin was released shortly after the release of Focus Factor.

Ingredients of Lucidal

Lucidal includes the following ingredients: Vitamins A, C, D3, E, B6, B12, biotin, inositol, pantothenic acid, magnesium alpha-ketoglutaric, acid, soy bean oil powder, taurine, trimethylglycine, ginkgo biloba, green tea extract, zinc, selenium, chromium, potassium, beta carotene, alpha carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, cryptoxanthin, creatine monohydrate, DMAE bitartrate, choline, chondroitin sulfate, glucosamine HCl, L-glutamine, L-pyroglutanic acid, soy isoflavones, acetyl L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, aceytl L-tyrosine, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, PABA, vinpocetine, bilberry, grape seed extract, maritime pine bark extract, CoQ10, lycopene, resveratrol, huperzine A and vanadium.

Effectiveness of Lucidal

Just like with many others similar supplements, the main issue here is that the large number of combined ingredients could possibly create an unhealthy level of toxicity in the body, which is certainly dangerous. Besides that, the large number of ingredients, while some of them are useful, will not be able to pass through the blood brain barrier, as the product does not contain the right combination of amino acids or neuro-nutrients to make this possible. The manufacturer claims that the supplement protects the brain against oxidizing free radicals and improves the brain’s energy production. They also state that a clinical study has shown that Lucidal improves memory and mental clarity, as well as improved mood, focus and mental energy, but they don’t list or link to the study in question, which is a little worrying. Customers would benefit from being able to read and interpret studies when companies claim such evidence and sell products based on these credentials. Unfortunately many companies prefer to make claims and hide the evidence. Overall, Lucidal may be a good supplement for some, but the large number of combined ingredients may create a dangerous level of toxicity in the body. Furthermore, this multi-vitamin is more expensive than most of the similar products available on the market. All these issues combined led us giving this supplement a lower rating.

Lucidal Price

Lucidal is an expensive supplement and some people may not be able to afford it. This multi-vitamin is available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or from a number of online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts and even free shipping for larger orders.

Does Lucidal Work?

According to the manufacturer, this supplement was formulated to reflect the consensus opinion that aging and the accompanying brain degeneration is related to the dysfunction of the neurons in the brain. The formula contains various nutrients, which according to the company can enhance the cognitive functions of the brain. However, it is important to note that these claims were not supported by the FDA and some patients have also reported side effects such as feeling nervous, anxious or jittery. We advise our readers to consult with their doctor before taking this supplement. While the multi-vitamin concept may be appealing to some, it is also important to understand the formulas behind such products. Simply adding a number of well known ingredients doesn’t make a product effective.

#32. Listol Reviews

by Progressive Health

Listol uses an amino acid approach for the matter of treating and dealing with the symptoms of ADD and ADHD. It is marketed to both children and adults. The list of ingredients is large and includes Vitamin B6, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Phosphatidylserine, Di-Methyl Glycine, Glycine, GABA Powder, DMAE Bitartatrate and Huperzine A Extract. …

Is Listol Right For You?

Listol is marketed as a breakthrough supplement designed as a non-toxic alternative to commonly prescribed drugs for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) in adults and children. The company behind this product is Progressive Health. This formulation contains various minerals and amino-acids. It also contains the herb Huperzine A, but it is only 1 mg, which is very small inclusion. Listol is stated as all natural which may come as a relief to persons looking for a product with a healthier composition.

Ingredients of Listol

Listol includes the following ingredients: Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate), Copper (as copper gluconate), DMAE Bitartrate, Di-Methyl Glycine, GABA Powder, Glycine, Huperzine A Extract (Huperzia serrata) (moss), Iron (as Iron Citrate), Magnesium (as Magnesium Oxide), Phosphatidylserine, Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCL), Zinc (as zinc oxide), Gelatin, Rice Powder and Magnesium Stearate

Effectiveness of Listol

According to the producing company, the benefits of using Listol are exponential, allowing patients who suffer from ADHD to be able to function normally once again without having to take potent drugs that could cause a lot of problems in their life. As you may know, all chemical drugs are associated with numerous side effects, some of them extremely dangerous. Listol is advertised as an all-natural product, reducing the risk of side effects to occur. The GABA has been included as there is research to suggest that GABA pathways in the brain appear to play a role in certain cognitive disorders like ADHD. This is correct to a certain extent, but as we have noted, this needs to be produced in a natural manner without artificial help. It is much wiser to have the correct balance of vital amino acids and neuro-nutrients in the body, which will affect and balance the brain. The reason for this is that they are natural products that the body demands and can deal with, without any side effects, or peaks of crashes. This product includes many amino acids and associated neuro-nutrients. One such example is vitamin B6, which is found in many whole foods such as chicken, eggs, bananas, whole grains and rice. This will increase serotonin and facilitates the absorption of neuro-amino acids. Unfortunately, this product has been known to produce a foul smell. The company notes under the warnings and precautions section that the powerful ingredients in this formulation may produce a very potent smell. If this smell is unbearable, they advise their customers to let their capsules sit on a counter for 15 minutes until the smell dissipates. Hopefully letting some air get to the capsules will solve this issue for anyone who decides to try Listol. Nevertheless, the bad smell may also drive potential consumers away.

Listol Price

Listol is an average-priced supplement, compared with other chemical treatments for ADHD. Nevertheless, Listol is more expensive than many other natural alternatives available on the market. One bottle of Listol contains 30 capsules, which should be enough for up to 10 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 to 6 capsules a day.

Does Listol Work?

Listol is advertised as a natural treatment for ADHD, which means it may be less dangerous than prescribed medications. However, we recommend our readers to consult with their doctor before purchasing this supplement. Listol also includes GABA, this being a chemical, and while is does calm the person for a short time, it is not a substitute or long-term solution.

Is Neuro-Natural Right For You?

Neuro-Natural is targeted to the mood-boosting section of the brain nutrition market, aiming to help relieve depression and anxiety, alleviate negativity and create natural brain balance. This supplement is manufactured by Xtend-Life Holdings LTD, a company that has a large line of products in the market. Neuro-Natural contains over 40 ingredients, such as common herbs and vitamins Huperzine A, Vincopetine, SAMe and Phosphatidyl L-Serine to name just a few. Xtend-Life does a good job in advertising their product. The supplement is accompanied by a number of testimonials, the full list of ingredients is provided and the company cites several clinical studies and researches to support their claims. Xtend-Life Holdings is honest and upfront about the amount of bottles that need to be bought, which, surprisingly or not, many other companies do not reveal.

Ingredients of Neuro-Natural

Neuro-Natural includes the following ingredients: Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Biotin, Pantothenic acid, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Soy lecithin, L-tyrosine, Choline bitartrate, Bacopa extract, DL-phenylalanine, Gotu kola extract, Acetyl L-carnitine, Alpha lipoic acid, Quercetin, L-glutamine, SAMe, Betain HCL, 5-hydroxytryptophan, Ginkgo extract, Milk thistle extract, L-lysine HCL, L-methionine, Eleuthero extract, Passionflower extract, Schisandra Extract, Yucca extract, Inositol, Bilberry extract, Grape seed extract, Green tea extract, Hawthron extract, RNA, Phosphatidyl serine, Piperine, Vinpocetin, Lycopene, Boron, Hyperzine A, Lithium, Microcrystalline cellulose, Dextrose, Silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, Dicalcium phosphate, Maltodextrin, Starch. Enteric coating(Purified water, Ethylcellulose, Ammonium hydroxide, Medium chain triglycerides, Oleic acid, Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, Talc, Polydextrose)

Effectiveness of Neuro-Natural

The company states that scientists have identified several ingredients that, according to clinical trials, may help repair damage and slow down further degeneration of the brain. These ingredients were added in optimal synergistic amounts within this formulation. Indeed, this supplement does contain several interesting and well known ingredients that have been proven to be effective in promoting and supporting cognitive health. However, the downside of this product is the same issue that we have reported many times. The issue is the large number of ingredients and how they are unable to reach the brain. Neuro-Natural also uses capsules that are hard to digest. Easily absorbable capsules dramatically increase the rate of absorption by the body, and therefore make the supplement much more efficient. Neuro-Natural also uses 5 HTP in its formula. 5 HTP is a naturally occurring element in the body and it is derived from Griffonia Simplicifolia, a West African plant, which is a climbing shrub. 5 HTP is very useful in the body as it is a precursor to serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that is responsible for maintaining and regulating a variety of systems in the body. Serotonin seems to get a loss of attention these days, so it is well known, mainly as a feel-good neurotransmitter.

Neuro-Natural Price

Neuro-Natural is an average-priced supplement. A bottle of Neuro-Natural contains 90 tablets, which should be enough for up to 15 days of treatment at a maximum recommended dosage of 6 tablets per day. Consumers can purchase Neuro-Natural directly from the company’s website or from numerous online retailers. The manufacturer offers free shipping for larger orders.

Does Neuro-Natural Work?

Overall, this is a decent product but it could be improved. It uses natural ingredients, which is good, but there is still a large amount of research pending on many of the other ingredients in Neuro-Natural. Neuro-Natural may be appealing to those who are looking for a gentle, natural way to support their cognitive function. However, we advise our readers to further research into this supplement before making a final decision.

Is GoodDays Right For You?

GoodDays is advertised as a multivitamin approach. The company that produces this supplement is Good Living Labs, LLC. This product is very similar to other multivitamin products we have reviewed here, in that they seem to have moved from the general health market into the brain nutrition market, with the same product. GoodDays includes the following ingredients: Not Available

Effectiveness of GoodDays

GoodDays is actually a set of five pills that they have packed together to make up the daily dosage. They state that this is done for the purpose of replacing your usual multivitamin. The first pill that you need to take is the red pill, which offers an herbal remedy approach. There is then the purple pill, which is a synthetic melatonin and amino acid. Following this you need to take two brown pills of GoodDays that are mega vitamins, and lastly an omega-3 pill. This multivitamin claims to be carefully formulated and researched with exact amino acids, herbs and extracts known for their mood enhancing properties. It is important for a multivitamin approach to combine the right amino acids with the right vitamins and minerals. This product claims to increase one’s confidence. However, the manufacturer is not providing any relevant clinical study in order to support this statement. Confidence is an internal matter and not something that can be found in a bottle or pill.

GoodDays Price

GoodDays is an average-priced multivitamin. However, this product is no longer available for purchase. The official website states that the company has moved from the original location and the production will restart shortly.

Does GoodDays Work?

It is hard to say if GoodDays is effective or not, especially with the little information we have. At the time of this review, it appears that the company is no longer producing this supplement. Many retailers are also displaying GoodDays as “out of stock.” GoodDays, just like any other multivitamin approach, may be effective and appealing to some consumers. However, it is extremely important to know what you are buying. Therefore, we advise our readers to further research into this formulation before making a final decision.

#35. Calm-PRT Reviews

by NeuroScience, Inc

Calm-PRT is a herbal remedy approach to reducing stress and restoring balance in the body. It approaches this with the aim to “restore proper communication within the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. It is designed to reduce adrenal release of catecholamines and cortisol, and to support central cortisol receptor sensitization.” …

Is Calm-PRT Right For You?

Calm-PRT is an herbal remedy approach advertised to reduce stress and restore balance in the body. This remedy is manufactured by NeuroScience, a company with a good reputation among its customers. The company claims this supplement was specially developed to restore proper communication within the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. The formula was developed to reduce adrenal release of catecholamines and cortisol, and to support central cortisol receptor sensitization. However, herbal products such as Calm-PRT can actually be dangerous for some people as they can induce anxiety. These herbal products are usually containing caffeine and other stimulants, as well other ingredients considered health foods, such as ma huang.

Ingredients of Calm-PRT

Calm-PRT includes the following ingredients: Rhodiola rosea root extract, SerinAid 50P, Glycine, Taurine, vegetable cellulose (vegetarian capsules), rice flour, and magnesium stearate.

Effectiveness of Calm-PRT

Calm-PRT contains artificial stimulants for the brain. The formula does not give the brain the natural environment that it needs to be nourished. Thus, this would appear to be a temporary solution. By looking at the ingredients for Calm-PRT, we can see that it contains an extract of the adaptogen Rhodiola rosea, which they claim is a source of biologically-active rosavins. They also state the Rhodiola rosea extract in Calm-PRT is standardized to contain 16% rosavins, which have been found to decrease the effects of stress and fatigue. Unfortunately, there are no clinical studies or tests to support this. Although,  it would be via an artificial means, which is not a suggested long-term solution.

Calm-PRT Price

A bottle of Calm-PRT contains 120 capsules, which should be enough for up to 40 days of treatment at a maximum recommended dosage of 3 capsules per day. This product can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website or from numerous online and offline retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts, promotions and even free shipping for larger orders.

Does Calm-PRT Work?

Calm-PRT may be appealing to those who are looking for a natural way to support and improve their cognitive functions and to treat the symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress and fatigue. However, just like many other similar products, Calm-PRT also contains potentially dangerous ingredients. As always, it is recommended to talk to your doctor or health care provider before trying any new type of medication, even one claimed as being all natural. As each persons body is different, this plays a large role in whether a supplement will work as expected.

#36. Neuro1 Reviews

by Nutrition53

Neuro1 is self styled” mental performance formula” and claims to be an “anti aging food formula that dramatically increases circulation and blood flow to the brain for maximum performance”. …

Is Neuro1 Right For You?

Neuro1 is self styled as a mental performance formula and is claimed to be an anti aging supplement formula that dramatically increases blood flow and circulation to the brain, assuring and supporting maximum cognitive performance. Nutrition 53 is the company that produces this supplement. While the manufacturer’s claims are quite bold, in reality, Neuro1 is a very similar product to many other multi-vitamin approaches. We have reviewed dozens of these on the website already and this fits into this category very nicely. As we have said with other reviews, this will offer certain health benefits to the individual, but the deluge of ingredients is not going to help your brain more than a few well-selected vital amino acids would.

Ingredients of Neuro1

Neuro1 includes the following ingredients: Taurine, L-Tyrosine, Glucuronolactone, Magnesium Creatine Chelate, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha Glycerylphosphoryl Choline, Piracetam, L-Theanine (Suntheanine), Alpha-Lipoic Acid, 2-Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) Bitartrate, Bacopa Monniera [Whole Plant] Extract, Phosphatidlserine, Rhodiola Rosea [Root] Extract, Coenzyme Q10, Vinpocetine, Ginkgo Biloba [Leaves] Extract, Black Pepper Extract (Bioperine), Huperzia Serrata [Whole Plant] Extract, Crystalline Fructose, Maltodextrin, Whey Protein, Natural And Artificial Flavors, Sunflower Oil, Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate, Butter Fat, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Citrate, Caffeine, Gum Blend (Xanthan, Cellulose, Carrageenan), Malic Acid, Sucralose, Carmine Powder (added for color). Caffeine equivalent to 1 cup of coffee

Effectiveness of Neuro1

The simple brain science of how the blood brain barrier functions is what prevents these one-size-fits-all supplements from working as they claim to do in their advertising. The blood brain barrier is a sensitive membrane and will only allow very precise ingredients to pass through. As this supplement is not formulated with the precise amino acids, vitamins, and neuro-nutrients (as you would find in the similar nucleus of whole-food), the affect on the brain is very minimal. The brain needs nourishment from the ingredients in whole food (or those found in amino acid supplements), it does not require an assortment of all the vitamins, herbs and minerals that can be combined into one tub. The manufacturer claims  that its proprietary NeuroEnergetic Matrix combines research-proven levels of 30 neuro nutrients that support sharper focus, better memory, faster recall, improved mood, enhanced physical and mental energy and long-term brain health. Unfortunately, they do not list how these conclusions were arrived at and where the evidence for them can be found. As with other similar products they also list a warning to possible users. If you have high blood pressure or hear problems them you need to avoid this product. This again shows that the formulation behind the product is not natural. Strangely enough, the website shows a graphic of how Neuro1 dominates the competition. Their product is compared with several other products like Red Bull, Monster and Focus Factor in order to prove Neuro1 is superior to them. We do not believe such graphic was necessarily, nor it can actually prove anything. Without relevant clinical studies and researches, these are just empty claims. On top of that, the manufacturer is comparing their product with some unhealthy and potentially dangerous formulas such as Red Bull and Monster (energy drinks).

Neuro1 Price

Neuro1 is available in 2 lb tubs and it is a relatively expensive supplement compared with other similar products. The recommended dose is one scoop of Neuro1 in 6 to 8 ounces of cold water. It is advised to take the supplement 30-45 minutes before a meal, exercise, or anytime optimum focus and performance will be required. This supplement appears to be sold via multiple affiliate websites around the Internet. You can find it at different prices. It is not clear if this supplement comes with a money back guarantee, as one is not listed. It is also unclear if they offer a free trial.

Does Neuro1 Work?

We believe Neuro1 is no different from any other similar brain supplement available on the market at this moment. As we have said with other reviews, multivitamin approaches will offer certain health benefits to the individual, but the deluge of ingredients is not going to help your brain more than a few well-selected vital amino acids would. Price may also be a problem for some potential consumers, as Neuro1 is considerably more expensive than a common multivitamin supplement. Thus, we encourage our readers to further research into this product before making a final decision.

The HelloLife website states that Focus Excel contains a proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals, and herbs designed for “maximum results”. This is quite a claim for a multi-vitamin product, but one that many companies seem to be making thee days. …

Is Focus Excel Right For You?

The purpose of Focus Excel multi-vitamin supplement approach is help to promote better well-being and increase your focus and concentration. The company behind this product is HelloLife. The company claims their formula contains a proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals and herbs specially created for maximum results. They also claim that it will support your ability to focus on tasks, help for improved attention and concentration and improve your sense of well-being. All these are quite bold claims for a multi-vitamin product, but more and more companies seem to be making them these days. Unfortunately, the company provides little information for people to use and make a decision with. The ingredients themselves are very difficult to locate, which is always an issue when deciding to choose a brain supplement.

Ingredients of Focus Excel

Focus Excel includes the following ingredients: Niacinamide, Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCL), Folic Acid, Vitamin B-12 (Cyanocobalamin), Cordyceps sinensis (whole plant, 7% cordyceptic acid), Guarana seed extract (22% caffeine), Phosphatidylserine, DMAE bitartrate, L-glutamine, L-tyrosine, Eleuthero root extract (8% eleutherosides), Alpha lipoic acid, Mucuna pruriens seed extract (15% L-DOPA), Ginkgo biloba leaf extract (8:1), 5-HTP from Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract, White willow bark, Glycine, Vinpocetine 98%, Choline bitartrate

Effectiveness of Focus Excel

As stated above, the company’s claims are quite bold and unfortunately, not supported by relevant clinical studies and researches. It is worrying when companies make large claims without providing the label, ingredients or testimonials to back up some of the claims. As with all multi-vitamins in general, they are good for the day-to-day health of the individual but the effect on the brain is negligible. In fact, many companies have re-marketed their products to adhere to the burgeoning brain supplement marketplace that has evolved over recent years. We recommend you look out for this trend when you are shopping for brain nutrition products. Companies try to add as many ingredients as they can into these products, in the hope that you recognize one or two of them and buy based on that. The fact that some have over 50 ingredients makes no difference to your brain functioning. The scientific question is how many of these ingredients will pass the blood brain barrier? The answer is that few, if any will do so without the required amino-acids or neuro-nutrients that are needed for this to occur. The blood brain barrier is extremely difficult to penetrate, as it allows only exact formulations to pass (those found in natural whole foods that our brains require on a daily basis). In addition, some of these multi-vitamin approaches do have many of the right amino acids and neuro-nutrients; however, most of them are found in only trace amounts. This could not be verified with Focus Excel, as the exact ingredients are unknown.

Focus Excel Price

Focus Excel is a cheap multi-vitamin supplement. One bottle of Focus Excel contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day. This multi-vitamin is available for purchase from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer discounts, free shipping and even free bottles for larger orders.

Does Focus Excel Work?

Focus Excel is yet another multi-vitamin supplement that comes in the market with some bold claims. Unfortunately, these claims are not backed up by relevant clinical trials, studies or researches. The information provided on the official website is not enough to convince a consumer to make a purchase. Just like with many other similar products, this formula is a mixture of amino acids, minerals, herbs and vitamins, a huge number of ingredients that are not proven to be effective as a whole. Thus, we recommend our readers to focus on products that have been fully researched and proven to work. High quality amino-acids (such as HCF Happy, Calm & Focused) may be better choices for those who are seeking a good supplement to support and enhance their cognitive function.

Mind Power RX is a herbal remedy approach and almost the same as all of the other herb approaches we have reviewed on this website. Effectiveness of Mind Power RX

Mind Power RX is advertised as an all-natural herbal supplement. Ginkgo Biloba appears to be one of the most important ingredients included into this formulation. This plant is used for the treatment of various health concerns, many of which are still under scientific investigation. The evidence we have shows that Gingko is effective in treating the symptoms associated with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, intermittent claudication, glaucoma and muscular degeneration. The same evidence also demonstrates that Gingko may be an effective memory enhancer in healthy patients. We would also like to point out that Gingko Biloba has shown to be most effective as a memory enhancer in healthy patients. The plant may not be as effective in treating age-related memory loss. Most consumers can take Ginkgo Biloba without problems, but there are some reports of increased bleeding. Therefore, it should be administrated with caution in patients on anticoagulant therapy and those with known blood clotting disorders. Mind Power RX has received numerous positive reviews and testimonials. Many consumers have reported good results within days from the first administration.

Mind Power RX Price

Mind Power RX is an average-priced supplement. The product is available for purchase from a number of online retailers. Is Mind Soothe Right For You?

Mind Soothe is a very basic herbal brain supplement. This product is manufactured by Native Remedies, LLC; a company with a good reputation on the market. MindSoothe is advertised as a 100% safe, non-addictive, natural herbal remedy that has been especially formulated by a clinical psychologist for adults and teens. The supplement has received a number of positive reviews and testimonials but we will take a closer look at this formulation to determinate how effective it really is. Native Remedies, LLC provide a decent amount of information about this supplement and offer their business address, which is important. They also offer and number of testimonials to validate this product. We always support such approaches.

Ingredients of Mind Soothe

Mind Soothe includes the following ingredients: Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s Wort) and Passiflora incarnata (Passion Flower).

Effectiveness of Mind Soothe

Mind Soothe is a simple herbal formulation that contains two key ingredients: St. John’s Wort and Passion Flower. St John's Wort is widely known as an herbal treatment for depression. In many countries, this herb is prescribed for mild depression, especially in children and adolescents. There are evidences that suggest that this ingredient is effective in treating mild to moderate depression but the results from the initial studies are mixed and still inconclusive. St John's Wort is generally well tolerated, with an adverse effect profile similar to placebo. The most common side effects include dizziness, confusion, gastrointestinal symptoms, tiredness and sedation. In some very rare cases St John’s Wort may cause photosensitivity.

Mind Soothe Price

A bottle of Mind Soothe contains 60 capsules. The manufacturer recommends adults to take 2 capsules 3 times daily for 4-6 weeks. After 4-6 weeks, it is advised to reduce dosage to 2 capsules 2 times daily. Compared with other similar supplements, Mind Soothe is a medium-priced product. Constant Focus states that it is the number one factor in brain support. This is the claim made in bold type on its website. Constant Focus is designed to help people stay alter and keep their attention on the task at hand. It also supposed to prevent lapses of concentration and let you get more hours from the day. …

Is Constant Focus Right For You?

Constant Focus is advertised as a dietary supplement designed to enhance one's brain activity. The company behind this product is Market Health. According to the manufacturer, this formula is the number one factor in brain support. The proprietary blend of ingredients are said to increase blood flow to the brain, allowing for more oxygen rich blood to supply the brain and nervous system. It is also said to protect the brain from “free radicals.” Much like many other herbal approaches to the issue of focus and brain supplementation, the ingredients are quite common. The money back guarantee feature offered by the manufacturer is only partially correct. A customer cannot return a product once it has been opened. That means that if you are not satisfied with this supplement, then you have no way to get your money back.

Ingredients of Constant Focus

Constant Focus includes the following ingredients: Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), thiamine, riboflavin, niacinamide, Vitamin B6, folate, Vitamin B12, zinc, manganese, gotu kola, grape seed extract, ginkgo biloba extract, l-glutamine, bacopa monnieri, phosphatidylserine, choline bitartrade, DMAE, Siberian ginseng extract, N-acetyl L-carnitine, alpha lipoic acid, turmeric root extract, vinpocetine, bioperine, and huperzine A.

Effectiveness of Constant Focus

Constant Focus is a dietary supplement designed to increase mental awareness. The formula contains several well known ingredients, commonly found in brain boosting supplements. Constant Focus contains Ginkgo Biloba, which purports to increase blood flow to the brain and through the body. While they state that some exciting research has been done, nothing has been listed which indicates what exciting findings were discovered. This is a well known herb and has been used for many centuries, but that proves nothing scientifically. The formula also contains Huperzine A, which is an extract from the Huperzia serrata moss. Again, this is something that has been used in China for centuries as a medicine called Qian Ceng Ta. As with a lot of Chinese medicine, the science is very thin or non-existent on this extract. The product itself does not list the exact ingredients or qualities, or even provide the label amounts which make it very difficult to understand how you would take the product, and for how long. Finally, Constant Focus contains Vitamin B12. Those who have a low level of Vitamin B12 may present symptoms of memory loss or forgetfulness. By adding this ingredient into the formulation, the manufacturer claims their product can help to reverse the effects consumers feel when Vitamin B12 levels are too low.

Constant Focus Price

A bottle of Constant Focus contains 90 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 capsules per day. This is an average-priced product and it is available for purchase from many online retailers. If you choose to place an online order, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Constant Focus Work?

Constant Focus is advertised as one of the most potent brain supplements available on the market. Its numerous retailers are trying to convince consumers that this formula is highly effective in stimulating brain activity. However, Constant Focus is not been proven as a dietary supplement to improve brain function. For a product that has been advertised and supported by so many retailers, the lack of relevant clinical studies or testing is more than concerning.

#42. Cognitex Reviews

by Life Extension Foundation

Cognitex is a herbal remedy approach to enhancing neurological functioning. It is aimed at people who want to boost their short-term memory and prevent the effects of aging. Life Extension Foundation also want to target people want to improve their cognitive functioning in general. …

Is Cognitex Right For You?

Cognitex is advertised as an herbal remedy approach specially developed to enhance neurological functions in the human brain. This supplement is manufactured by Life Extension Foundation. This formula is aimed at people who want to boost their short-term memory and prevent the effects of aging. Life Extension Foundation also wants to target people who seek to improve their cognitive functioning in general. Cognitex contains many different herbs and extracts blended together. Thy company states that they use pharmaceutical grade nutrients. They also talks about neurotransmitters, and a few in particular are singled out for better brain functioning and aging prevention treatments.

Ingredients of Cognitex

Cognitex includes the following ingredients: Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline, Phosphatidylserine, Pregnenolone, Vinpocetine, Leucoselect Phytosome, Vita Blue Wild Berry, Sensoril Ashwaganda, Uridine-5 Monophosphate and NeuroProtection Complex Blend which includes Perluxen Hops, Ginger and Rosemary.

Effectiveness of Cognitex

We believe that the right scientific approach is to provide the right environment for the brain to manufacturer its own neurotransmitters by feeding it with the vital amino acids and neuro-nutrients that the body cannot manufacture alone. However, this formula appears to focus on targeting certain neurotransmitters in the hopes of artificially stimulating them. Life Extension Foundation is using an interesting marketing strategy to promote this supplement. According to them, Cognitex contains standardized extracts of powerful phytochemicals. They claim (although we were unable to find any relevant studies to support this) that phosphatidylcholine-grape seed extract compound adds superior antioxidant protection and improves blood vessel tone and elasticity, helping to enhance blood circulation and oxygen flow to the brain. These are all interesting claims. Unfortunately, without medical evidences to support this, it’s difficult to say how effective this formulation really is. The manufacturer states that wild blueberry extract has been added due to new studies showing that blueberries help suppress free radical and damage due to inflammation in the brain, but also may repair some of the changes seen in aging neurons thus improving memory. The claims and studies mentioned in the above paragraphs are not alluded to elsewhere in the sales copy and there are no links provided. We are left to wonder where and when these studies took place and how they relate to the product in question.

Cognitex Price

The price for Cognitex is quite expensive and some people may not be able to afford it. A bottle of Cognitex contains 30 softgels, which should be enough for 15 days of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 softgels per day. A consumer will need two bottles of Cognitex for a full month of treatment.

Does Cognitex Work?

This product is similar in nature to many other herbal remedy approaches and may provide some health benefits. The issue is whether it will offer the boost in short term memory and cognitive functioning that it states. Even if this were the case, the way it artificially enables this to take place is not what the brain demands. Based on the ingredients listed and the information we have found during our research, Cognitex may be appealing for those who are seeking a natural way to support their cognitive function. It does have antioxidant properties and has ingredients that have been proven to boost the immune system. Cognitex claims to enhance the attention span and improve short-term memory however, there is not enough information available in relation to their ingredient formula to verify these claims.

#43. Neuro-Maxx Reviews

by Dr Venessas Formulas

The claims made by neuro-Maxx are quite grand. For example, they state that Neuro-Maxx is scientifically formulated to provide all the essential neuro-nutritional supplement ingredients to support the nervous system, enhance good circulation and modulate neuro-transmitter activities which play an important role in mood regulation, sleep process and emotional balance. …

Is Neuro-Maxx Right For You?

Neuro-Maxx is advertised as an herbal remedy approach to brain supplementation that helps rebalance mental activities for improved alertness and motivation and to optimize mental functions for better job performance. The company that produces this supplement is Dr. Venessa’s Formulas. The claims behind this remedy are quite bold. For instance, the manufacturer claims that Neuro-Maxx is scientifically formulated to provide all the essential neuro-nutritional supplement ingredients to support the nervous system, enhance good circulation and modulate neuro-transmitter activities which play an important role in mood regulation, sleep process and emotional balance.

Ingredients of Neuro-Maxx

Neuro-Maxx includes the following ingredients: Thiamin (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Niacin (Vitamin B-3), Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, 5-HTP (L-5-Hydroxy-tryptophan) (Gryffonia simplicifolia), Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) Bitartrate, GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid), Ginkgo Biloba (leaf) extract, Gotu Kola Extract (Centella asiatica), L-Glutamine, L-Tyrosine, Passion Flower powder (Passiflora incarnata), Phosphatidylserine, Rhodiola Rosea (root) extract, Suntheanine® L-Theanine, Yerba Mate Extrac, Dicalcim phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, silica, pharmaceutical glaze and peppermint oil.

Effectiveness of Neuro-Maxx

Dr. Venessa’s Formulas claims that Neuro-Maxx helps rebalance mental activities for improved alertness and motivation and to optimize mental functions for better job performance. However, these claims are not backed up with any scientific data or research. Not only that, but an herbal remedy approach is limited in what it can offer the person who wants to experience these benefits from a supplement. This is a very similar approach to many other herbal remedy approaches. They do include some amino acids, which is a good thing, but they could be blocked from passing the blood brain barrier (and therefore nourishing your brain) by the herbal ingredients contained in the formula. This is an unfortunate but real side effect when companies try to include as many ingredients, from many different sources as possible. Remember that the claims made by this manufacturer, or any other company can only work if the ingredients are able to get past the blood brain barrier, and actually enter the brain. It is important to know that such ingredients will not pass if they are not accompanied by the right amino-acids and neurotransmitters. Another important thing to mention is that the website is not as informative as we have seen from many other brain supplements. There is very little information available to the public about the supplement and what it can offer. There are also no testimonials or feedback sections from previous customers. This is something that we look for, and something most consumers want to see before giving a supplement a try. Remember that if you want to improve your mood, clarity of thought and memory then you need to have the most natural ingredients in your body, and then in your brain. The blood brain barrier will only allow certain things into the brain fluid, so focus on amino acids and neuro-nutrients, instead of Neuro-Maxx.

Neuro-Maxx Price

Compared with other similar products, Neuro-Maxx is an average-priced brain supplement. A bottle of Neuro-Maxx contains 120 tablets, which should be enough for 1 month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 tablets a day. This supplement is available for purchase from numerous online retailers. If you choose to place your order online, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Neuro-Maxx Work?

The formula does include some amino-acids which is a good thing. Also, the supplement appears to contain some high quality, well known herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately, like with all herbal supplements, Neuro-Maxx may be effective as a short-term treatment only. The lack of relevant information (testimonials, clinical studies, trials) is also concerning. Information is a key feature in our reviews and many consumers want to see it before giving a supplement a try.

Is Neuro Optimizer Right For You?

Neuro Optimizer is a brain supplement with the purpose of providing the necessary nutrition for the brain, in order to increase brain metabolism. The company behind this supplement is Jarrow Formulas. The company is based in Los Angeles, California, United States and is a formulator and supplier of various nutritional supplements. Jarrow Formulas won a first place “Vity” award for with this supplement in 2010. The ultimate goal Neuro Optimizer is to improve mental clarity and brain functioning. According to the manufacturer, this product is able to provide antioxidant protection while increasing the processing of the brain. It is difficult to accurately measure these effects, but this supplement does contain many high quality ingredients. Also, Neuro Optimizer contains soy. If you are allergic or sensitive to soy, it is advised to avoid this supplement.

Ingredients of Neuro Optimizer

Neuro Optimizer includes the following ingredients: Folic Acid, Cytidine 5'- diphosphocholine, Phosphatidylserine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Taurine, Phosphatidylcholine, Silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and cellulose. Contains Soy

Effectiveness of Neuro Optimizer

Neuro-Optimizer is advertised as nutrition for the brain, combining some high quality ingredients such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, CDP Choline, (also known as Citicoline), Acetyl L-Carnitine, Taurine and L-Glutamine to enhance brain metabolism and antioxidant protection safely and naturally, without the use of stimulants. This blend of ingredients is stated to help boost the production of neurotransmitters, protects axon membranes, increases energy levels and help to fight free radical accumulation. According to the manufacturer, this supplement is one of the most comprehensive and synergistic formulas for overall brain function as well as providing antioxidant power. Several studies and clinical trials conducted by the company appear to support some of these claims. One of the most important ingredients added to this formulation is Citicoline (CDP-Choline). Citicoline is an essential intermediate in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, a major constituent of the gray matter of brain tissue. The substance supports brain metabolism by enhancing the synthesis of acetylcholine and restoring phospholipid content in the brain. Another key ingredient is Phosphatidylserine, a phospholipid which helps provide structural, physiological, and biochemical support to cell membranes, particularly in the brain. However, PS is a questionable ingredient when it comes about improving and supporting cognitive functions (especially in elders). In fact, the FDA concludes that there is little scientific evidence to support this property.

Neuro Optimizer Price

Neuro Optimizer is an average-priced brain supplement. A bottle of Neuro Optimizer contains 120 capsules, which should be enough for 1 month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 4 capsules per day. The product can be ordered directly from the manufacturer’s website or from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts for bigger purchases.

Does Neuro Optimizer Work?

Neuro Optimizer is a strongly advertised supplement that contains several high quality ingredients. However, while the manufacturer’s claims for this product are extremely bold, these claims are not backed up by relevant clinical studies and researches. Overall, Neuro Optimizer may be effective in supporting and enhancing cognitive function. Nevertheless, we advise our readers to further research into this product, its ingredients and the overall formula before making a final decision. While Neuro Optimizer may look appealing for some, we believe there are better options out there.

Effectiveness of Brainalert

Brainalert has 24 active ingredients that they say are formulated to support neural acceleration. However there is a major warning in their dosage instructions. The manufacturer advises users of Brainalert to take 2 days off after every 5 consecutive days of use to prevent any possible adverse reactions or tolerance development. The formula contains a blend of amino acids, herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals. Ashwagandha was added to improve mood, reduce anxiety and improve memory. CoQ10 was added to increase energy, to support the immune system and for its antioxidant properties. Folic Acid is a well known amino acid that plays an important role in mental and emotional health. This product’s goal is to bring the best brain supplement formulation on the marked and was designed to provide an extra edge for students. According to the manufacturer, they have spent two years doing serious research to formulate the Brainalert dietary supplement with consumer safety priority one. Unfortunately, there is a lack of evidence to support the claims of Brainalert being the most effective cognitive enhancing pharmaceutical grade dietary supplement on the market. Gabatrol is an amino acid approach to brain supplementation. As you will have noted from our other reviews, we are strongly in favor in amino acid supplements, but unfortunately this product also contains GABA. …

Is Gabatrol Right For You?

Gabatrol is a brain nutrition product for stress and anxiety relief. This supplement is manufactured by Pure Life Distributors, LLC (also known as Pure Life). According to the company, they are focused on purity, providing high quality products that add value to their customer’s lives. This brain supplement aims to reduce stress and anxiety by optimizing the function of your brain in numerous ways. Gabatrol is sold with a 60-day money back guarantee policy. If a consumer is not entirely satisfied with the results, he can return the product for a refund. Please note that shipping costs are not refundable.

Ingredients of Gabatrol

Gabatrol includes the following ingredients: Phenyl-GABA (4-Amino-3-Phenyl-Butyrate or 4A3P), L-Theanine (Theanine), L-Tyrosine (4-hydroxyphenylalanine), L-Glycine (AminoAcetic Acid or 2AAA), Taurine (Aminoethanesulfonic Acid or Taurine), Sceletium tortuosum (Kanna), Bioperine, Gelatine, Rice Flour, Silicon Dioxide and Magnesium Stearate.

Effectiveness of Gabatrol

It is stated that this formula works by normalizing the neurotransmitters in the brain that are not functioning properly, much the same way that chocolate has ingredients which can enhance mood. While there are some similarities between Gabatrol and chocolate, and is claimed the ingredients added to this formulation are far more potent. GABA is an amino acid and a neurotransmitter, and it is able to improve neurological functions. The brain naturally produces GABA, but it is not a good idea to replace the natural dosage with a supplement. This amino acid was discovered in Russia in the 1960’s for its ability to reduce a number of ailments including anxiety, PTSD, social phobia and insomnia. As such, GABA works, but when an artificial source is used, it only works for a only for a short time, at which point you would need to switch over to l-glutamine, as this builds your natural GABA levels without synthetic assistance. Gabatrol claims to have formulated a new, more potent form of GABA and claims that this new form is able to pass the blood brain barrier in significant amounts. They call this a smart nutrient for its proposed ability to improve neurological functions. Another very useful amino acid that is included in this supplement is Theanine. This is known to elevate a person’s mood and focus. This is often found in tea and is able to cross the blood brain barrier. There are testimonials about Gabatrol. What is being reported includes: • Effective • Works as advertised • Affordable

Gabatrol Price

Compared to other similar products, Gabatrol is quite expensive. A bottle of this supplement contains 90 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 capsules per day. Gabatrol can be purchased directly from its official website, or from various online retailers. The company does not offer a free trial sample.

Does Gabatrol Work?

Pure Life Distributors comes with some bold claims for Gabatrol, claims that unfortunately are not supported by relevant clinical studies and researches. This formula is more expensive than other similar formulas but it appears to have received numerous positive reviews and testimonials. Pure Life Distributors offer a lot of information, which is always a good thing.

#47. Velocity XT Reviews

by Neogenix Applied Bioscience Solutions

Velocity XT is in its own category when it comes to herbal remedy approaches, but for the wrong reasons. This could actually be a very dangerous product for many people who have an intolerance to such products. Neogenix Applied Bioscience Solutions come right out with their mission when they states that "Velocity XT is the next generation "jitter free" stimulant designed to give you a steady rush of pure adrenaline; stimulating your mind, body and soul." …

Is Velocity XT Right For You?

Velocity XT is advertised as a muscle building supplement, or pre-workout booster that may also have some positive impact for those who are trying to lose weight throughout increased exercise or for those who are seeking a cognitive enhancer. The company behind this supplement is Neogenix. This product is in its own category when it comes to remedy approaches, but for the wrong reasons. In fact, this formula could be a very dangerous mixture for individuals who have intolerance to such supplements. The company claims that this formula is the next generation “jitter free” stimulant designed to give you a steady rush of adrenaline, stimulating your mind, body and soul. In order to do this Velocity XT is infused with very potent ingredients such as Thiamine Disulfide Butyrate, PEA (Phenethylamine), Hordinine, Geranium Extract (1,3- Dimethylamylamine) in addition to caffeine to have a powerful impact on the person taking it.

Ingredients of Velocity XT

Velocity XT includes the following ingredients: Thiamine Disulfide Butyrate, Caffeine, Phenylethylamine, Hordenine, and 1,3-Dimethylamylamine.

Effectiveness of Velocity XT

First of all, we have to advise our readers that Velocity XT is a very strong form of supplementation. Thus, we recommend consumers to consult with their physician before taking this product. Velocity XT is really giving the body and brain a serious dose of shock treatments which is something the brain is not used to, nor what it wants. Obviously, it puts the brain into an unnatural state, which is usually what herbal approaches do anyway, but this goes a few steps further. This product is designed to be taken before a workout in order to provide an energy jolt and increase concentration. Whether this occurs is not clear, but the after effects on the body and brain will be quite clear for the user. This is because the product provides an artificial rush, which is only temporary, and the brain will need to get back to equilibrium state soon after. While this seems to be a bodybuilding supplement, other people might use it for weight loss. Please remember that Velocity XT is a stimulant that works on the central nervous system. If the dosage is too high, it can cause side effects, so those who try it should use Velocity XT with caution. Also, while the ingredient list is small and simple, the proprietary blend prohibits us from being able to see the exact amounts of the ingredients in the formula. Without the exact amounts, it is impossible to say if there is enough of each ingredient to be effective enough to produce the advertised results.

Velocity XT Price

A bottle of Velocity XT contains 90 tablets, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 tablets per day. Velocity XT is an expensive supplement and some people may not be able to afford it. It can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website or from several online retailers. If you choose to place your order online, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does Velocity XT Work?

While this formula does seem to have some benefit in the energy and focus department, there is not much to support it as an effective brain supplement and cognitive enhancer. Also, due to the lack of information regarding how much of each ingredient is in the formula, it's hard to evaluate the formula of Velocity XT. Velocity XT contains some strong ingredients such as Thiamine Disulfide Butyrate, PEA (Phenethylamine), Hordinine, Geranium Extract plus lots of caffeine. Due to this strong combination, the formula could be a very dangerous mixture for individuals who have intolerance to such supplements.

#48. Memorin Reviews

by Alfa Vitamins Laboratories, Inc

Memorin is said to aid and support the memory, however the company also states that this brain supplement can enhance the general functioning of the brain and protect it from free radical damage. It should be noted that the company behind Memorin also produces and manufactures a number of other brain supplements that claim to do a very similar thing. We are often intrigued why a company does not simply focus on creating one very good product, instead of creating a number of very similar product offerings. There are some companies who tend to focus on quantity over quality. We are not suggesting this is the case with the Alfa Vitamins, but we want to make our audience aware. …

Is Memorin Right For You?

Memorin is said to aid and support the memory, however the company also states that this brain supplement can enhance the general functioning of the brain and protect it from free radical damage. The company behind this product is Alfa Vitamins Laboratories, a manufacturer of tablets, capsules, powders, creams and liquids for various brands and private brands. The company was founded in 1994 and they are now members of the Natural Products Association (NPA) of the United States.

Ingredients of Memorin

Memorin includes the following ingredients: Vitamin B-12, Folic Acid, Vitamin B-1, Vitamin B-6, Ginkgo Biloba, Glutamic Acid, Choline Bitartrate, Sodium Glycerophosphate, Flour, Gelatin from capsule and Magnesium Stearate.

Effectiveness of Memorin

Memorin contains some well known vitamins, herbal extracts and minerals into its formulation. We wonder, however, if the plethora of ingredients will hinder its ability to work on the memory, or even cross the blood brain barrier. There are certain extracts in the product that have been seen to work in isolation, but such ingredients are often ineffective when combined as part of a conglomeration of other ingredients. As we have previously stated, a few very good ingredients are often far more potent and provide the benefits the average consumer is looking for. We were also unable to find any verification for the ability of this formula to work. For those interested in natural remedies, the inclusion of Gingko Biloba into this formulation may be appealing. However, while this plant is considered safe with side effects rarely occurring, gastrointestinal problems, dizziness, skin reactions, headaches and bleeding complications have been reported with gingko use. Unfortunately, there is little information on this product. The company does not provide the necessary information and it fails to provide references to relevant clinical trials, customer testimonials, ingredients description and how the overall formula is supposed to work.

Memorin Price

Memorin is an average-priced supplement. It can be purchased directly from the official website, or from various online retailers that may offer a discount on the original price. If you decide to try it out, then shop around first. You are able to get a 30 day money back guarantee from the official website. One bottle of Memorin contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day.

Does Memorin Work?

Memorin contains some proven to work vitamins, minerals and amino acids. However, the lack of relevant clinical trials and researches raises a red flag regarding the effectiveness of this formula. While some ingredients are well known and extremely popular among supplements manufacturers, the effectiveness of Memorin formula cannot be proven without these clinical studies. Thus, we recommend our readers to focus on products that have been fully researched and proven to work. If you seek a potent brain enhancer, you may wish to keep looking.

#49. Brain Lightning Reviews

by Novus Research Inc.

Brain Lightning is an “anti-aging neural supplement” by Novus Research Inc. who also manufactures several other types of supplements, including Slimming Cleanse Tea, Super Glisodin, Ashiflora, Thunder Boost, Herp-Eze and Flora-Sweet. …

Is Brain Lightning Right For You?

Brain Lightning is advertised as a multi-vitamin approach that aims to improve memory, mental clarity and overall health of the brain and neurological system. The company behind this product is Novus Research Inc., the same manufacturer who also produces several other types of supplements, including Slimming Cleanse Tea, Super Glisodin, Ashiflora, Thunder Boost, Herp-Eze and Flora-Sweet. This formula is a mixture of vitamins and minerals. Based on our research, we found the claims made by the manufacturer are not supported with any scientific data however. Nevertheless, we will review Brain Lightning based on the information we have to determinate if this formula may be effective and a good solution for those who are seeking for a natural way to nourish their brain.

Ingredients of Brain Lightning

Brain Lightning includes the following ingredients: Vitamin E, Magnesium, Thiamin, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin B6, Niacin (Vitamin B3), Zinc, Manganese, Methylcobalamine, Organic Selenomethionine, Vinpocetine, Huperzine A, Trimethylglycine, DL-Phenylalanine, GABA, DMAE, L-Tyrosine, Gingko biloba, Prenenolone, Magnesium stearate and Silicon dioxide.

Effectiveness of Brain Lightning

This formula contains Gingko Biloba, which is a herbal extract used in traditional Chinese medicine. Companies use this extract as they think it will improve mental functioning, but the evidence does certainly not back up this claim. There are also dangers to using it. There are constituents in ginkgo leaves that may affect blood clotting, so people with bleeding disorders shouldn’t use ginkgo leaf extracts. People with epilepsy (or anyone with a history of seizures) should avoid ginkgo, because it may increase the frequency of seizures. There have also been some cases of high blood pressure in people taking ginkgo. As with many supplements that contain herbal extracts, the manufacturer advises patients who suffer from high blood pressure, haemophilia, heart problems, pre-existing pigmented malignant melanoma, migraine headaches, or are taking blood thinning medication or other prescription drugs, to use Brain Lightning only under the guidance of a physician. This is because herbal extracts are known to artificially stimulate the neurotransmitters in the brain. This is the reason that we don’t recommend this style of brain supplement. While this product is advertised as the ultimate anti-aging neural supplement that improves mental clarity, memory and overall brain health, it should be noted that the effectiveness of Brain Lightning has not been scientifically established. The website is also difficult to navigate and locate the information you need to make a decision. Overall, this may be an appealing formula for some.  We don’t believe GABA is a viable, long-term solution, as a natural alternative is much better and simple to include. GABA is effective, but only for a short time, at which point you would need to switch over to l-glutamine, as this builds your natural GABA levels without synthetic assistance.

Brain Lightning Price

A bottle of Brain Lightning contains 90 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 3 capsules per day. Brain Lightning is quite expensive, compared to other similar supplements. You can purchase the product directly from the manufacturer’s website (using a toll-free phone number or a mail-in order form) or from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer additional discounts.

Does Brain Lightning Work?

Brain Lightning may be appealing to some as its formula contains some well known vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts. As we have previously mentioned in other reviews, GABA is a chemical, and while is does calm the person for a short time, it is not a substitute or long-term solution.

#50. Serenity Reviews

by Urban Nutrition, LLC

Serenity is a trace mineral produce but is appears to be designed like a herbal remedy approach. For its main ingredients it "combines the natural mineral form of lithium with the orotate mineral transporter and is then completed with the patented micro vortex enteric coating manufacturing process." …

Is Serenity Right For You?

Serenity is a trace mineral product but is appears to be designed like a herbal remedy approach; and is aimed for individuals who suffer from unstable emotions, mood swings, excessive sleeping, migraines, a bad temper, stress, insomnia, anxiety, PMS, menopause and uncontrollable crying. This formula was first developed by Dr. Hans Nieper and then manufactured and sold by Urban Nutrition Inc. According to the manufacturer, this formula combines the natural mineral form of lithium with the orotate mineral transporter and is then completed with the patented micro vortex enteric coating manufacturing process. Specialists’ opinions regarding this mineral are divided. Some believe it’s perfectly safe and highly effective, while others points out that Lithium may be dangerous and associated with various side effects. However, Urban Nutrition says that they have found a safe method, in Serenity, of transporting it into the brain without the common side effects.

Ingredients of Serenity

Serenity includes the following ingredients: Ashwagandha extract (Withania somnifera) known as Sensoril, Eleuthero (Siberian ginseng) and Rhodiola rosacea.

Effectiveness of Serenity

According to a recent study (AARP Bulletin, October 2008 issue), anxiety, depression and insomnia top the list of conditions for which herbal remedies are dispensed. Thus, many manufacturers are developing natural products that aim to treat these health problems without causing the common side effects associated with prescription medications that are used for the exact same purpose. Urban Nutrition claims they have found a safe way of using lithium orotate to transport the necessary nutrients to the brain. However, there is no clinical evidence provided on how this is accomplished in a safe manner and how tests have proved it, which begs many questions for the average consumer. According to the company, research has demonstrated that this does not raise the lithium levels in the blood at all or in any significant way. Therefore, toxic levels of Lithium are not an associated problem with Serenity. The claim on the label states that this product promotes emotional well being and further describes it as a unique combination of herbal extracts that help the body cope with stress. As with almost all herbs, it is difficult to find combination’s that occur naturally in our natural diet, such as whole foods. This means the concoction of herbs and other ingredients are used to have an effect on the brain, which is a short term, artificial process. Some may not even pass the blood brain barrier.

Serenity Price

Serenity is an average-priced brain supplement. A bottle of Serenity contains 60 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a recommended dosage of 2 capsules per day. This supplement should be available for purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website (unfortunately the website was offline at the time of this review) or from various online retailers. Some retailers may offer discounts, free shipping and even free bottles for larger orders.

Does Serenity Work?

Serenity has received a number of positive reviews and testimonials and many consumers have reported positive results after using it.

Is EndoPlus Right For You?

EndoPlus is a liposomal oral spray designed to address anxiousness, sleep disturbances, and restlessness. This product is manufactured by NeuroScience, a company with a good reputation among its customers. According to the company, they are the industry leader in Neuro-Endo-Immune Solutions, and their supplements are manufactured at the highest level to ensure nutritional purity and clinical effectiveness. There are many such sprays on the market today, and many of them are just like EndoPlus. These formulas are usually derived from an herbal extract of some sort. In this case, the herb extract is Griffonia simplicifolia.

Ingredients of EndoPlus

EndoPlus includes the following ingredients: Suntheanine® (L-theanine), 5-hydroxytryptophan (from Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract), Purified Water, Fructose, Natural Flavors, Hydroxylated Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate (as preservative) and Citric Acid.

Effectiveness of EndoPlus

EndoPlus contains Griffonia simplicifolia, a woody climbing shrub native to West Africa and Central Africa. The extract is used in this formulation and many other similar brain supplements. While the popular belief is that this is a great herb to build serotonin in the brain, it is an artificial substance that the brain is not used to. As such, it affects the brain’s neurotransmitters only on a superficial level and doesn’t nourish it with the neuro-nutrients that it needs every day. This spray also contains theanine, which is commonly found in tea. It is an amino acid and is able to cross the blood brain barrier, which is probably why is it contained here. This amino acid has been shown to reduce mental and physical stress and also to improve cognition and mood. This may or may not be the case in this product, but it is possible. According to the manufacturer, EndoPlus is an advanced liposomal liquid formula that is rapidly absorbed; it has a pleasant root beer flavor. We could not find any information to back up the claims of being an advanced formula, or how quickly it is absorbed into the body. Overall EndoPlus is very similar to many others on the market today and doesn’t seem to have anything unique to offer to its consumers.

EndoPlus Price

EndoPlus price range may vary a lot, depending from where you choose to purchase it. Overall, this is an expensive supplement and some people may not be able to afford it. EndoPlus is available for purchase directly from manufacturer’s website or from various online retailers. If you choose to place your order online, please take into consideration the shipping costs as well.

Does EndoPlus Work?

EndoPlus is manufactured by a company with a good reputation. However, that alone is not always a mark for high quality. In fact, this formula does appear to be very similar to many others on the market today and doesn’t seem to have anything unique to offer to its consumers. While EndoPlus may be appealing for some (mostly because it contains well known ingredients), we believe there are better options out there. Thus, we encourage our readers to further research and focus on products that have been fully researched and proven to work.

#52. MemoProve Reviews

by GLI, LLC & Neuro Pharma

MemoProve states that it is proven to boost memory, concentration and alertness in just 30 days. This is the claim that is made by the video on their official website. Is MemoProve Right For You?

MemoProve is advertised as a brain supplement that it is proven to boost memory, concentration and alertness in just 30 days. The company behind this product is GLI, LLC & Neuro Pharma. The claim from above is made by the video on their official website. This is a very specific claim but there is no evidence, studies or professional reports that back this up. We are always very skeptical when we hear specific claims about brain improvements without the evidence that should support it. Why would a company not add proof if these things were true? MemoProve also states that it is the first and only once-a-day tablet clinically shown to boost Memory, Alertness and Concentration with a patented blend of Neuropeptides. They further state that if you have trouble remembering things, names, objects or what you were about to say, then this supplement will overcome these things in just 30 days.

Ingredients of MemoProve

MemoProve includes the following ingredients: Neuropeptides N-PEP-12 Peptones, Lactose, Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate, Silicon Dioxide and Enteric Coating.

Effectiveness of MemoProve

What we find most odd about the one page sales website is that they do not even list the ingredients inside the multivitamin supplement. This is the most basic information that consumers want to see and investigate, but this is left from their sales material. The only hint that they offer readers is something called Neuropeptides N-PEP-12 Peptones. As professionals in the field, we were not even sure what this means; so we conducted some further research on this ingredient. It appears that Neuropeptides N-PEP-12 Peptones is a derivative of cerebrolysin, a neuropeptide compound that appears naturally in the brain. This compound is used to treat Alzheimer’s disease in over 30 countries. However, the derivative peptone is not nearly as effective as the compound itself. A study in the journal International Clinical Psychology indicated that Neuropeptides N-PEP-12 Peptones may be an effective treatment for normal memory loss associated with healthy, aging adults. However, GLI, LLC & Neuro Pharma derivers its N-PEP 12 peptones from pigs. We do not agree with this approach. Furthermore, this renders this product unsuitable for vegetarians and those whose religion prohibits the consumption of pork-based products. The only thing the website does state is that it is not a stimulant or drug. This is good news, but much more information is needed before people are going to buy this product. The website claims to have a 30 days money back guarantee, but we were unable to find any customers who stated they were refunded when asked. On top of that, we could not find a single testimonial from a real person. They have a MemoProve video with elderly people claiming to have improved their memory, but they appear much like infomercials, which are known for using actors.

MemoProve Price

The cost of MemoProve is in line with that of other memory enhancers. The product can be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s website (there are a number of “bonus packages” available for purchase along with bonuses) or from several online retailers.

Does MemoProve Work?

We were unable to find any relevant clinical study or research to support the claims made by GLI, LLC & Neuro Pharma. The evidence provided by the official website is questionable to say the least. This product doesn’t contain the most effective ingredients found in other top brain support supplements. Furthermore, MemoProve contains Neuropeptides N-PEP-12 Peptones derived from pork. We do not agree with this approach.
